About Me
I have been working with Children and Adult for the past 9 years. I have worked in schools as a Learning Mentor / Art Therapist for children with a variety of Special needs, from challenging behavioural difficulties (EBD) to non-verbal, physically impaired young adults and nursery children (PMLD). I also run Art Workshops for children at a variety of venues around Devon and Cornwall.
Each year I run the Artbus at the yearly ‘Dadsfest’ which is a Children's Charity called 'Dangerous Dad's'. The even is held at the forest school in Kingsbridge. One of the workshops involves natural dyes to paint with; turmeric, coffee, blueberries and beetroot, we also use earth and mud to paint with. Dadsfest is a weekend camping event where Dads get to bring their children to an outdoor event (Mum’s not allowed!!). Activities including Archery, Bush crafts, Fire making, Spoon witling, Sword and staff making, Arts and Crafts, Face painting and Special-effect make-up, Dad’s dancing competition and much more. Its great fun as well as a place where Dads get to bond with their children and practice their parenting skills!
I also love the outdoors and spend most of my spare time walking along coast and exploring the Moors and forests. I am very happy to take the children out as much as possible to give them some good exercise and fresh air. Being an Ayurvedic Therapist / Yoga teacher, I am very happy to do children style Yoga sessions and food is of upmost importance. I love to cook and help the children try new healthy options with their diet.
I also love music / singing so I can teach piano / recorder / saxophone / guitar / ukulele and Languages - French / Italian.
My Experience
I have worked at numerous schools in London / Devon and Internationally. Also within residential units / private homes / Charities and Community Events. I have worked with SEND and usually work on a 1 to 1 basis within a classroom environment. I recently worked with a diabetic child aged 5 so I am trained in this area.
I have also worked as a freelance Art Therapist running events for children and adult. I have studied with Drs about natural medicine and health care and I am insured as a Herbalist. / massage therapist.. I also can teach English / Music / Yoga / Languages. I have taught English in Greece and Thailand as well as in International Colleges in London. I can speak a few languages (French / Italian / Thai / Greek ) at basic / intermediate level.

Emily has been babysitting and doing ad hoc childcare for my son Zack since he was around 6 months old. Emily is playful and bubbly around children and Zack was quickly charmed by her .
I highly recommend Emily , she has been a great help .

Emily has been looking after my son Bert for a year now. Right from the beginning communication has been easy which has been essential with all the twists and turns the year has thrown at us. Emily has a natural rapport with children and is unflappable and adaptable. When he was younger Emily looked after Bert at home, then she switched to taking him to the park and now she does an amazing job at helping me out at home. Emily has always been a joy to have around in the house. A rare gem.
