Hi my name is Isabella I am 23 years old. I am currently working at a special needs primary school and have previously been working at special needs unit at a high school Throughout this role I have gained valuable experience and skills in supporting young people with additional needs such Autism, ADHD as well as supporting students with mental health struggles such as anxiety and depression. I am in my sixth year of working with young people and have a huge passion for making a difference. I encourage our students into as many mainstream lessons as possible with our support. This is to inspire them to build relationships with peers and improve their social and communication skills. We also encourage them to spend break and lunch times with their year groups and I will be on duty to provide any extra support if they require it. Alongside supporting them in their mainstream lessons I also have been providing one to one and group sessions in social skills, Zones of Regulation and emotional well being, which I feel has really benefited my students in understanding their emotions and how to express them in a positive way. In some of my ‘ME to YOU’ sessions I have been completing comic strip conversations to help them understand some situations they may have faced or been involved in, in an easier way as well as addressing their worries and concerns and finding ways to conquer them.
My Qualifications
I have 9 GCSEs including English and maths.
I have two a levels and 1 AS level.
I have a NCFE CACHE level two certificate in Understanding Autism and the Level 2 Certificate In Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health.
