About Me
I am 34 years old, I speak fluent Spanish as I was brought up in Spain, and I have a Masters degree in Psychology & Philosophy. I have spent the past 8 years working as a global forensic accounting headhunter, but I have recently decided to return to the career I am most passionate about; child care and mental health. I am naturally empathetic, kind, caring and patient person. I believe that working with children is one of the most rewarding jobs out there and I fully appreciate how important it is to provide children with a safe and loving space for them to be in whilst their primary caregivers are unavailable. I am responsible and trustworthy with a solid moral compass, and I would always look after any child in the same way that their own parents would.
My Experience
Whilst I was at university, I worked with a family for 4 years. When I started, the youngest was 6 weeks old, the toddler was 2 and the little girl was 4. I used to look after them as and when requested; weekends, evenings, often during the day when I didn't have class. I used to take them all swimming at the same time, or to the park. We also did a lot of organised activities; baking or arts & crafts whilst I simultaneously taught them Spanish through play. I also cooked and cleaned whilst the children were asleep or did whatever I could to help around the house as required. I have also worked with a number of other families over the years as either a full time nanny, babysitter or Spanish/English tutor.
After university I worked in a nursery school in Aberdeen for almost 2 years. I worked in the 0-1's and the 1-2's as well as the 1-3's (I was rotated) Here I sat my SVQ level 1 and 2 in childcare.
My Qualifications
I have a masters degree in Philosophy and Psychology.
I have an SVQ level 1 and 2 in child care and an NVQ level 1 and 2 in social care (working with vulnerable adults)
