Coronavirus/COVID-19 Exclusions

Qualifying gold members who opt-in to the free insurance cover after Thursday 19th March 2020 should note that there will be no loss of revenue cover for claims arising out of Covid-19, as it is now a known peril and therefore excluded by insurers from this date.

Free Nanny Public Liability Insurance

Childcare.co.uk offer £10,000,000 of free Public Liability insurance, underwritten by Markel International Insurance Company Limited, to all qualifying Nannies that are gold members and who have opted-in to our scheme.

Free Nanny Professional Indemnity Insurance

The policy also includes £100,000 of free Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Free Nanny Legal Expenses Cover

Members of our insurance scheme receive free Legal Expenses Cover and access to a 24 hour Legal Helpline.

The Legal Expenses Cover policy is underwritten by Markel International Insurance Company Limited and is managed and administered by Markel International Insurance Company Limited.

Free Nanny Loss of Revenue & Suspension Cover

The policy includes free Loss of Revenue & Suspension Cover.

If you are unable to work due to an interruption in your business then cover of up to £20,000 may be available.

If your registration is suspended by your regulatory body (eg. Ofsted) then cover of up to £2,500 may be available.

Free Babysitting Cover

Nannies in the scheme are covered for self-employed babysitting work.

Satisfies EYFS and Ofsted Requirements

The Public Liability cover provided for Nannies meets the requirements of Ofsted and the EYFS statutory framework.

Additional Terms & Conditions for Nannies and General Exclusions

• Nannies must meet be registered with Ofsted and meet the requirements of either the Early Years Register and/or the Childcare Register

OR

Warrant that they:

• will keep any children you are looking for safe from harm
• will not use corporal punishment and make sure no-one caring for or living with children uses corporal punishment
• will manage children’s behaviour in a suitable manner
• will make sure no one consumes or is under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• have had and are able to evidence appropriate training in health and safety, safeguarding and first aid
• have a clean enhanced DBS check
• will make sure the premises and equipment are safe and suitable for the provision of childcare

• Once you are covered under the policy, any changes to your Childcare.co.uk account that would disqualify you from the cover, will result in your cover immediately expiring. If your gold membership expires then your cover will immediately cease. When submitting your details to apply, you must provide your correct full name and full address. If you change your name or address you must let us know immediately. Applications with invalid or non-current names and addresses will not be valid and you will not be covered.

Other than under Section 1: Public Liability, Professional Liability and Employers Liability, we will not cover any claim for any loss that is caused by or arises in any way from

  • Coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
  • a mutation or variation of SARS-CoV-2
  • threat, fear or likelihood of infection with any of the above
