Over the past few years I have been caring for four children from two families in a permanent share arrangement where fun, stability and friendship have reigned supreme, benefitting adults and children.
It’s a privilege to be a key part of any child’s early years and ideally, I am only looking for roles that will again provide that same challenge, connection and longevity.
Outside the usual functions of domestic life, our time has been dictated by the children’s interests, which ebb & flow so, I endeavour to plan appropriately.
We visit playgrounds, sand & water environments, local libraries, music classes, local children's centre provision, messy play sessions and swim regularly in the warmer months. Scootering, balance bikes, art, nature walks to collect 'treasures' and days out by train are other firm favourites.
I have a long work history and plenty of solid references from parents, many of whom remain firm friends. I have worked, always successfully, in nanny share arrangements for 12+ years and am proud of the wonderful sense of stability and community the children have experienced through my leadership.
I am a truly vocational childcarer and aim to feel like "the best money you ever spent", supporting the whole family unit, being flexible, trustworthy and committed.
I place huge importance on children, even the not yet verbal ones, feeling heard, respected, included and responded to. In my care your little person/s will have fun, develop critical thinking skills, feel challenged, grow in confidence and be valued and catered to as the individuals they are. I have worked with large families and also plenty of twins, from birth, but also as they mature and their interests, talents and sensitivities diverge.
Often people want to quiz me about approaches to discipline. Almost without exception, a professional nurturer has no use for a punitive, draconian attitude. I believe in leading by example and that children who are engaged, valued, well rested and well fed can surprise us with their ability to make good choices. Pity the fool who underestimates little people's capacities!
I would welcome enquiries for 1-2 days per week and also evening and weekend opportunities.
Good Luck to you all in finding a great outcome for your family!
I started my career in a Steiner setting, hold a Maternity Practitioner Qualification and have many years nannying experience (largely shares across 2 families), relevant first aid, DBS, etc. and am currently Ofsted registered for any parent wishing to pay via the voucher system.
I pride myself on understanding your brief and cheerfully supporting the whole family unit.
Please do get in touch if you fancy friendly, capable childcare that balances your child's need for wider social development with being well rested, feeling loved and attaining their individual learning outcomes.
