Hello
My name is Leanne I am a well-mannered, fun and responsible babysitter with a great deal of experience and interest in children and their development.
I am a confident carer who is emotionally mature with a high level of energy and abilities to develop close relationships with both children and their families.
I have excellent communication skills and able to relate well with people at all levels and work under considerable pressure. I am from a well brought up background with one younger brother, we had a lot of different experiences as children and would love to pass on those experiences with any children I work with.
I currently live with my husband in our house which I like to keep clean and tidy, I have lots of things I like to do some of the things are; walks and bike rides, swimming, arts and crafts, watching films and cooking. I don't have any particular hobbies as I enjoy doing lots of different things but if I had to choose one I would say baking cakes was a hobby.
I feel I am a firm but fair fun loving person who enjoys seeing positive outcomes in children. I am active person who enjoys new experiences and enjoys helping children learn through play, experiences and good role models.
My Experience
I have been working with children ranging from babysitting babies, nursery up to senior school age (1-16) this is both in schools, after school clubs, summer clubs and babysitting.
Nursery experience:
I worked in a nursery setting within a main stream school for a year as a learning support assistant, whilst working there me and 3 other members of staff had responsibility for the children's health and safety, other roles included toilet training, age appropriate activities, comforting when distressed and out of school trips to the park when I was in loco parentis.
Reception experience:
I worked for a year in a reception class, I really enjoyed working in this year as I was able to extend the children's play to help them get new experiences and learn new skills. During this year I was also assisting the children to start reading, writing and counting.
Year 1,2 and 3:
I have also worked in these year groups and have a good knowledge about the national curriculums and SATS that the children have to complete, I have an excellent knowledge of letters and sounds and age appropriate work/play.
over 10 years old:
I have worked in a sports centre as a summer kids club leader for children aged 5-12 years of age but I am also currently working in a special needs senior school as an LSA and have a very good understanding and relationships with this age. I am able to help with any work brought home and can also do some tutoring if needed. again I have a very good knowledge of the curriculum and have worked with a lot of young people on life skills and development.
Special needs:
I have always worked with children/young people who have had extra needs/ special needs either as a 1:1 support assistant/ tutoring or small group interventions, I feel I have an excellent knowledge of working and caring for children/young people with needs. I have also in my current setting had a lot of medical training for students with diabetes, epilepsy and other medical Conditions.
Nannying:
I was a nanny for a family in the local area with 2 girls, I did this for about a year and a half, I then started my degree so had to drop days which they needed so we parted on mutual terms.
My Qualifications
-BAHons in applied education studies
Level 3 in children and young people's workforce.
- Child protection courses.
- First aid at work.
- Food hygiene certificate
- Safe Guarding Children and young people.
