About Me
I have 13 years experience as a Registered Childminder of which I have been graded Outstanding for 8 years. I live in Corsham with my two daughters in close proximity to the local schools. I have been fortunate to have looked after special little people from 16 weeks old to the end of primary school and treasure the bond that is made with each child.
I pride myself in my calm home from home approach ensuring the children feel loved, respected and listened to, allowing them to learn, explore and develop at their own rate. I work hard to provide a stimulating learning environment using a wide variety of resources. I encouraging early literacy by promoting frequent story telling and poetry, singing and nursery rhymes. Each child has a reading log to share with parents. Early numeracy is promoted through play using natural resources, favourite toys such as cars, Peppa figures, beads etc.
I encourage as much outdoor play, investigation and freedom to explore as possible under a watchful eye. I like to allow children to challenge themselves in physical activities but also in their thinking. Outdoor activities chosen by the children and are adapted to suit individual needs/ages.
In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) I complete observations, trackers and assessments for each child termly and write a report at the end of the year. I work closely with families to ensure the children reach their Early Learning Goals and their individual potential.
I pride myself in thorough attention to school readiness and work closely with each child encouraging development in the key areas required by Reception class teachers. This includes promoting self confidence and assurance, good listening and attention skills, recognising their name, confident self-toileting, changing into PE kit, putting on shoes and coats independently amongst other skills.
Risk Assessments are made regularly both at home and on outings.
My Experience
Having been a Mum for 18 years to my lovely girls and childminding for 14, I have gained much of my experience during this time. I have developed my business from just one child to a a full house with children recently moving onto school. I have been able to incorporate a before and after school provision enabling continuity of care for both the early years children when they start school and their families. I pride myself in working closely with my families and developing a solid relationship with good communication to provided the best care I can. Below is a recent testimonial from a parent in June 2020. I feel this highlights my home provision and the childminder that I am.
"Bryony Sharp is much admired by my 2 1/2 year old. XXXX speaks fondly of Bryony as she had been in her care since she was 9 months. XXXX progress being with Bryony means she has such confidence and wit. XXXX amazes me with her subject knowledge often which has been covered as part of her childminding family. Bryony is great at outdoor experiences and thinking 'outside the box'.
She has welcomed XXXX into her home, allowing her to feel included with a variety of ages. XXXX has gained skills to be a friendly and caring individual due to Bryony's input. I definitely think having her as a childminder was the right choice for my child's needs as a baby and during some of XXXX toddler years. I loved her abilities to keep me informed about XXXX development particularly in XXXX first week of settling in. The use of WhatsApp pictures meant I could return to work feeling confident XXXX would love her time with Bryony and new friends.
I highly recommend childminders, Bryony being the best, especially with making me gain confidence leaving her with someone I didn't previously know. I thank her for her active involvement in XXXX life, good relationships were formed with us as parents. She has supported myself emotionally when I have been anxious during the Covid 19.
I know the children in her provisions will always thrive. I hope she feels proud on a day to day with her amazing efforts.

My Qualifications
I am currently graded Outstanding by OFSTED and have been childminding for 12 years.
I have an enhanced DBS check.
I am Level 3 qualified
I hold a First Aid Certificate for Paediatric Care
I have an Advanced Certificate for Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Level 2 Food Hygiene
I keep up to date with relevant training and further my CPD by engaging in broader topics such as Mindfulness for Children, Hygge in the Early Years, Forest Play.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I work and charge for term time care only. I offed Funded Care for 3 and 4 year olds and have signed the Wiltshire Council Agreement. The Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme is also considered.
