About Me

Hi everyone,

I have 10+ years experience tutoring and looking after kids and teenagers. I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics and have been working in AI for the past 2.5 years. Also have a formal teaching certificate a CELTA and teaching experience at schools. As part of my PhD, I’ve lectured university level students.

I strongly enjoy working with children and love tutoring using innovative approaches. My goal is to help students temporarily, in a way that enables them to adapt independent study, independent thinking skills and problem solving skills to be able to ultimately learn anything by themselves with confidence. With me, emphasis is placed on students not just learning the specific subject I’m helping them with but learning how to learn (metacognition) effectively in general. I have a warm, clear and structured approach to students and thoroughly enjoy spending time with them whilst supporting them in their progress. I prefer to tutor students in person but online tutoring is also available in some cases. I’m based in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and happy to travel within this or to central London, Hampstead or anywhere around those areas.

I’ve been living in the UK since starting my Undergraduate education at the University of York, and have also studied at UCL for my Masters after, and at Queen Mary University of London for my PhD. Prior to that I have spent my whole pre-university life living in Switzerland so speak German and Swiss German too.
