Little Chicks Childcare is a mother and daughter co-childminding setting, providing loving, flexible childcare for children aged 0–4 years.
We provide an environment that is safe, fun and inspiring, where all children are treated with love and care as if they were our own. You can leave your children with confidence, knowing they will receive the very best care and be supported in their learning through stimulating activities and encouragement in line with the EYFS, all within a warm home from home setting.
We care exclusively for babies, toddlers and pre-school children aged 0–4 years, allowing us to focus on giving younger children the very best start in life.
Located just off the A46 on the Lincoln bypass, our setting is perfect for parents dropping off or collecting their children while working in the city or the surrounding business centres. We are flexible to the needs of working parents and will always do our best to provide the highest quality childcare possible.
As with all childcare settings, we are Ofsted registered, fully insured and committed to providing high-quality childcare.
About Us
We are Angela and Heather, a mother and daughter co-childminding team.
We are passionate about providing a warm, loving and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, happy and valued. As a mother and daughter team, we work closely together to provide consistent, caring and individualised support for every child in our care.
Together, we provide childcare for children aged 0–4 years, supporting them through their earliest years of learning, development and discovery.
Our house has ample indoor space and a large, secure garden with an outdoor kitchen, along with a variety of outdoor resources for children to enjoy. We love being outside, exploring the nearby woodland and collecting natural resources to use in our play and learning.
We love baking, especially with the children, reading stories, and going for walks and through the woodland behind our home.
We enjoy lots of creative and child led activities, as well as free play. We have a wide selection of toys, books, games, puzzles and much more. We believe in the Curiosity Approach and enjoy using natural resources as much as possible to encourage open ended play, imagination and independence.
We also attend local playgroups where children can take part in a variety of activities, and the village park is only a short walk from our house. You can see our activities and find out more on our page.

We have both previously worked in a nursery.
I am a member of the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) and have experience of working with children with hearing difficulties.

Angela has looked after our 4 year old daughter since she was 1 year old. Angela and her family are genuinely lovely, caring people and treat our daughter as if she is part of the family. Our daughter loves Angela and the family and is always excited to see them whether that is in the setting or when we see them out and about. Angela has a great routine which includes learning, crafts, play and outdoor exploring to name a few. Angela encourages our daughter to be independent and her confidence has definitely grown as a result of this. Angela has been really flexible, especially during the recent months and has allowed us to change plans at short notice due to a change with our work commitments etc. I know when our daughter is in Angela’s care she is safe and is having great fun, the setting has a wide range of toys, books and games and often there is a theme where the children will learn about a particular topic which our daughter really enjoys. We have a great relationship with Angela and I would definitely recommend her, as would our daughter!

Thank you for a really lovely review.
Our daughter has been going to Little Chicks for 18months now and she loves it! Her days are filled with different activities and learning. Lots of outdoor fun too. The setting is well equipped with plenty of indoor and outdoor space.
She’s always happy to be left in the mornings and often reluctant to leave at the end of the day!!
I was dreading returning to work after maternity leave until we found Angela. It was a weight off my mind to know she’s in such a caring and fun environment.

Angela's is a really good place to be because there are lots of nice toys. There is space in the new room to play and there are chickens and things to play on outside. The other boys and girls who come are kind and we like to play together. We walk to school to stay healthy and scooter on Friday! Angela is helpful and kind. From childminded children x

Angela has been caring for my son for 9 months now, we have found Little Chicks provides an excellent level of care and provides a professional service.
Angela has a vast experience of caring for all age groups of children and also has experience of working with children with additional needs and learning disabilities; also she has relevant and up to date training.
I was extremely concerned about choosing child care for my son as I didn’t know how I would know which would be the right one etc but as soon as we visited Little Chicks and we met Angela and her family, I knew this was the right one for us.
Angela is approachable and friendly; the environment is welcoming, homely and safe, Angela and her husband have up to date DBS checks.
Angela is positive about development and encourages this with providing him with relevant activities to encourage his development, Angela also takes him to local toddler groups to encourage interaction with other children and in addition to this Angela takes him out in the community for various activities.
Angela has been extremely flexible to meet my needs around work and I have often needed to change the times and days he attends and Angela has always been flexible and worked around this.
Angela keeps excellent records and uses a system called baby’s day’s, this system is very high standard and it is also secure, it has all policies and procedures / observations / notes / meals and much more easily accessible for parents to view, but I love the photos which are stored on the system.
My son feels confident around the Little Chicks environment, he gets on well with all of the other children that attend but most of all he has a fantastic bond with Angela’s family members he loves all 3 of her children and they all care about and spoil my son. Although Angela’s husband works; he always interacts with my son and chats to me when he is at home and my son has a fantastic bond with him too.
I would highly recommend this service to anyone seeking childcare.

Excellent lines of communication and excellent and professional service. The environment is homely and safe. Little chicks provide age appropriate activities for my son and provides a structured day.
Little chicks provide community based activities and also healthy balanced meals.
I have found the services very flexible to my needs

I am a parent of two children that attend Little Chicks Daycare.
From day one of starting with Angela, both of my kids have loved being in her care. There's always plenty of toys on offer for them and arts and crafts opportunities. They love the outside area, with its park like facilities and big open space to run around in and especially the chickens!! Angela is very caring towards the children but is also very good at setting good appropriate boundaries.
My children always listen to Angela and clearly respect her. Having a 9 year old boy and 4 year old girl I can vouch for the fact that Angela can happily accommodate and adapt to individual children's needs and interest. Angela has proven to be a very reliable asset to my family and the peace of mind she offers means I can happily leave my children in her care knowing they are happy, safe and most importantly having lots of fun!!
