About Me
Hello parents and carers, my name is Sarah and I am 31 years old. I live in Cambridge (Orchard Park) and I am a full time single Mother to a 4 year old boy. I am a chatty, fun, caring and polite individual who has a great sense of humour. I am reliable, independent and I do not mind responsibility. I have had a keen interest in caring for children for many years now and I really enjoy watching them grow up - seeing them play, learn and develop. In my spare time, I enjoy doing various forms of exercise such as swimming and dancing. I also enjoy going fishing, socialising, foraging/exploring outside and spending time with my Sister.
My Experience
I first began my childcare career in July 2009 at a local day nursery. During my time there, I gained my level 2 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development. I then continued to study and achieve my level 3 qualification for the Children and Young People's Workforce. Whilst working at this nursery, I attended many training courses either in house or via the Cambridgeshire County Council. When I first started at the nursery, I began as an apprentice and worked my way up to become a practitioner, a deputy room leader and then a room Leader. I also gained the extra role of being the new staff and student mentor. I managed, supervised and worked with and alongside a staff team of 6, as well as planning and holding team meetings. Each day, I carried out Health and Safety checks in order to ensure that the environment was safe and suitable for the children to use. I planned activities for individual children based around the Early Years Curriculum, the child's age, interests and abilities. I worked very hard to ensure that each child's needs were being met and tried my best to ensure that they had a safe, fun and stimulating environment to play and learn in. I found it very easy to build and maintain good relationships with parents/carers and communicated with them on a daily basis, giving them in depth feedback regarding their child's day at nursery.
After leaving the nursery at the end of 2014, I decide to become a nanny. I have worked in a number of different nanny roles from 2015 - 2019. I have done all typical nanny duties such as general household chores (washing up, tidying, hoovering, emptying bins), simple meal preparation and cooking, school/nursery drop off and pick up, attending various children's groups, visiting parks, libraries and museums, aiding with homework, dressing/changing children as and when required and liaising with parents regarding daily plans and feedback.

A level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification
A level 2 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development
A level 2 qualification in Team Leading and management
A level 2 qualification in Food Safety and Catering
A clear DBS check (CRB)

10 years of experience within the childcare sector
Previously registered with OFSTED and willing to become registered again

Sarah looked after our son who has SEND as wrap around care outside of school.
She was really attentive to his needs and happy to be led by our direction.
She engaged him in conversations around his interests and really took note to understand his queues as he is not always verbal.
We felt extremely safe leaving our son with her and have not felt like that previously.
We unfortunately could not continue with wrap around care due to our sons unpredictable attendance around school, we often have to come home midway through the day, or he wouldn’t attend at all.
However, we would absolutely employ Sarah again, she mad our family feel really happy and secure when we were not home.

Sarah looked after my 18 month old son for five months, until he started nursery. Since the moment she joined, Sarah quickly adjusted to our families’ schedule. We have found Sarah to be very motivated, flexible, competent and trustworthy. She performed extremely well and we always felt that our son was in good hands. Our son created a strong bond with Sarah and was always happy to see her arriving in the morning.
She seemed genuinely interested in child development and devoted some of her free time to make development assessments to monitor my son’s progress. She was very much in tune with our son and always finding creative ways to have fun. We appreciated that she was able to provide the right balance of outdoor playing with indoor games and arts & crafts.
Sarah tasks included:
• Supervising our son and caring for his needs.
• Planning, preparing and serving his meals
• Basic hygiene, changing diapers and dressing
• Researching activities and places to take our son to, such as playgroups, music class, parks, pool, zoo etc.
• Performing light housekeeping duties.
Sarah has many strengths, but we really appreciated how she can motivate children, helping them learn effortlessly from everyday situations and fun activities. Our son developed so much his language, manners and interaction with other children. She was always patient with our son and managed to overcome any tantrum appropriately when needed. Sarah was also respectful of your house rules on things such as healthy nutrition and television time.
We are glad to have had her in our life and would not hesitate contacting her for any future childcare needs.

We have employed Sarah as our nanny for our now 17 month old boy since August 2015. I think the most accurate review comes from our son, who smiles every time Sarah arrives. She has worked with him on his motor and speech development, and he has come ahead so much under her care.
I was nervous to return to work, but he has been so well cared for with Sarah that it has made the transition easy. She has looked after him in the home and taken him on many excursions, as I do work from home some days each week. She has undertaken some meal prep, light cleaning, and laundry.
Only our son is moving to nursery this year is Sarah looking for a full time role. We are eager for her to continue on occasional weekends and evenings. She has been fabulous.
