Vanessa worked as a nanny for my son from September to April, starting when he was 9 months old. She built a warm rapport with him, which I appreciated.
However, I found the role proved challenging for Vanessa beyond basic childcare. Communication was inconsistent at times, and expectations around maintaining the home were not always met.
Engagement was largely limited to toy-based play, with limited involvement in outings or developmental activities such as cooking, crafts, or sensory play. As a result, in my experience, the role was not carried out to the standard I would expect of a professional nanny.
Toward the end, communication became increasingly difficult, and Vanessa did not complete her contracted notice period.
While she connects well with children, families seeking strong communication, reliability, and proactive engagement may wish to clarify expectations in advance.
