Dear families
I am looking for a few hours babysitting , close by . ad-hoc or regular basis.
at the week-end evenings.
i do have a DBS certificate to show , as well as a folder with references and information on extra courses and webinars I have undertaken to keep me up to date and inspire good working practice.
My approach to childcare involves positive praise and reinforcement,
role-modelling and encouraging experience-based learning through play and outings.
I encourage child led play. I nurture & support the child/children. developing their own interests, building their confidence and self esteem, helping them to prepare for nursery , or whatever the next stage is, providing respectful care and celebrating the child.
It has been a joy, watching the children in my care grow, and master new skills, and becoming wiser and wiser everyday!
My Experience
I have over 25 years childcare experience in various settings including nursery, pre-school, nanny positions and babysitting.
I worked at Millington Road Nursery School before my Nanny position.
I was a registered child minder when my children were young.
I spent time in a reception class and st Philips Nursery as part of my training.
i have been with my current job for over two years and several years with the previous family.
As a nanny I create a safe, secure, fun and loving environment for the children.
I organise activities, arts & crafts, outings and stories.
( I particularly enjoy sharing and introducing new books, normally i would spend time choosing new books from the library, in addition to my collection )
spending time at botanical gardens , local parks, and enjoying nature and the seasons.
also encoraging drawing, and encoraging an interest in creative arts and music.

- Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
i think £16 per hour is average ,for weekend work, and for an experienced nanny.
I am happy to negotiate a day rate.

Joolz, has been working for us as a nanny for 5 years. She initially came to us full time when her other family had a break due to maternity leave but has continued working for us on a part time basis ever since.
She is a fantastic nanny, and always comes with activities in mind for the children, which are appropriate for their ages (now 3, 7 and 9). She likes to get out and about with the children and they often visit parks and the botanic gardens or attend holiday events in the museums. Prior to the pandemic Joolz would take my younger child to playgroups and do a wide variety of crafts and games with him before picking the other children up from school. She is very good at responding to their interests and personalities, and is very positive and encouraging. She has been particularly helpful in supporting the children and us when they reach particular milestones, such as potty training, starting preschool or school.
She is incredibly reliable and very natural with the children. I never worry when they are in her care and they are always excited to tell me what they have been up to at the end of the day! The children are all very fond of her and look forward to their days with her.
I could not recommend Joolz more highly!
