My Experience

I worked initially as a teacher of 8-9 year olds for 3 years before moving into Residential then Field Social Work, eventually moving to working in Adoption after I returned to work part time when my family were young , 35 years ago. I then took early retirement 12 years ago and have worked with children aged 0-11 and their families since then as a nanny, nursery worker and Children's Centre worker.

For the last 4 years I have been caring for a boy diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, from age 7-11, after school, cooking meals and transporting him to activities etc. I have also been caring for twin boy and girl with some possible, so far, undiagnosed special needs, similar to those stated above. I realise, as ever, that each child is different in their needs and support requirements. I have read extensively about these conditions. I don't claim to be an expert on special needs from just working with these 3 children but I certainly appreciate the possible needs of these children. My eldest grandson,now aged 12 has been diagnosed with Autism and other conditions. He is currently home tutored.

I have also parented 3 children, including twins, thus caring for 3 children under 3 at one time, which means I am comfortable and experienced with
newborns including twins. I have also more recently cared for my three grandchildren currently aged 8, 11 and 12 years.

My Qualifications

Teaching certificate, Youth Worker qualification, Certificate of Qualification in Social work.

My Availability

Very flexible days and some evenings and weekends.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)

£18 + per hour depending on responsibilities.
