About Me
My name is Michela Machen although I prefer to be called Kala.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder , level 3 diploma educated and all relevant checks.

I am married with a 8 year old daughter called Willow and my 9 month old son called Dexter and 2 cats.
I have worked in the health care profession for 6 years including a gap for maternity leave to have my own daughter in 2013. During this time I worked for Care homes and BUPA home healthcare. I have qualified at Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care with vulnerable people and children. and gained valuable experience with a large range of people requiring 24 hour care ranging from young disabled children to the elderly with Dementia.
I live in Yeovil with my husband Simon, Our daughter Willow, son Dexter and our two cats Kizzy and Tigs.
My Experience
I worked In Health Care as a clinical support worker and a health care assistant for 4 years with 1 year being maternity leave. This was with a variety of people including dementia, the elderly and vulnerable children and adults. I achieved my NVQ level 2 Qualified in health care and went on to complete all the relevant training to become a registered childminder after My daughter was born , I have cared for all ages ranging from 0months to middle school.
I have been working as a childminder for 5 years and was graded GOOD by Ofsted (January 2018) I have completed level 3 diploma in Early Education.

Kala has been looking after our baby and preschooler on an almost full time basis for the last five months. Both children have settled well and seem to enjoy their time at the well equipped setting, which almost resembles a mini-nursery!
Kala always finds time for a chat about how the kids are getting on and also holds Parents' Evenings every now and then. We were happy to learn that Kala champions Baby Led Weaning. She further provides plenty of age-appropriate activities, photos and observations which can be securely accessed online.
Our baby is very much at home with Kala and our pre-schooler has found a wonderful new friend in another child at the setting. Kala also has cats and rabbits within her setting, with whom our kids love interacting.
We would warmly recommend Kala at Poglets to any parent seeking a professional, safe and caring childminding service.
