About Me
My name is Julie and I started childminding in April 2015. Since then I now work with my husband Quinton. We have been married for well over 30yrs with two grown-up children, and 4 grand children, 2 dogs and a cat whom all love to play and interact with the children.
AS FROM APRIL 2022, WE ONLY PROVIDE WRAP AROUND CARE FOR SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN.
I have a dedicated play rooms equipped with various toys and resources for all ages and an enclosed back garden for the children to have outdoor play and loads of fresh air.
There are plenty of outdoor playgrounds, parks, woodlands to go treasure hunting and picnicking in, and playgroups available close by for during the school holidays.
I qualified as an OFSTED registered childminder in January 2015. I have a 5* rating in food hygiene. Both myself and Quinton have an enhanced DBS check/certificate, pediatric first aid training every 3years with certificates, and relevant safeguarding training every 2years with certificates. .
I had my first Ofsted inspection in July 2017 and was awarded a GOOD grading. My last Ofsted inspection was in May 2023 and I was graded as MET due to having no children on the Early Years register.
Your child/children will be cared for in a home-like environment within a family atmosphere where they will receive our individual attention whilst also enjoying interaction with children of various ages. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) planning for each child’s individual learning and development needs. I will discuss all of your child's needs and requirements prior to them starting at my setting. I will always welcome new families into my home, at your convenience, so please contact me if you would like to visit. If you chose to use my services, settling in sessions will be provided on request to ensure the best transition period for you and your child. It is important that we establish a positive, honest and open working relationship and share information effectively.
We do drop-off and collection from Ladywood and Milefield Schools in Grimethorpe, Barnsley.

My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since April 2015. Before that I looked after my own two children- all of them are now adults. I've also looked after my grandchildren on weekends.

I have been committed to continuous professional development and as such attend regular training courses to keep my knowledge and skills up to date..

- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
HOURS AND FEES
Our times are from 7:30am to 18.00pm. Monday to Friday.
Early starts and late finishes are to be discussed.
Hourly Rate - £ 7.00 - New Rates from 01/02/2026
My hourly rate is for school holidays and I have a set rate for morning and afternoon sessions. Please contact me to discuss rates.

I was new to the area and needed morning school drop off for my 8 year old son on a Wednesday. I went and met Julie who was very welcoming and lovely, my son settled it great and enjoys going.
If I need to swap or add a morning Julie accommodates last minute changes which I'm so greatful for. Thank you :)...... highly recommended

My son absolutely loved going to Julie’s Childminding after school. Julie and Quinn are amazing and have treated him like their own. Such a lovely home, warm and welcoming, with an amazing garden. It’s a safe and loving environment and we were lucky to have such great people to look after our little boy. The provision is just fantastic with plenty of activities and healthy food and drink options. I highly recommend Julie’s Childminding Services

My son has been going to Julie since he was 18 months old when I returned to full time work. He absolutely adores going to Julie and always has the best time there. He also has additional needs and didn't speak until he was over 3 but this never deterred Julie and she always encouraged him and included him despite his needs and setbacks. He talks about Julie and Quinn all the time and the other children in the setting so we know how much he enjoys being there.
