My Summary

My Experience

I first qualified as a nursery nurse in 1997 with a NNEB diploma , for the first year I worked in a private day nursery. In 1998 i joined Manchester's Children Hospital and I have worked in the NHS for over 17 years in paediatrics, as a play leader then went on to qualify as a Hospital Play Specialist.

I also studied for HNC in early childhood studies. I have had regular training in paediatric first aid ( CPR, chocking) , infection control, moving and handling.

Ive worked with newborns right through to 19 years of age. I've experience with learning difficulties and special needs, devising play programmes to build on routine coming in to hospital for procedures. I also devised behaviour modification programs helping both parents/ carers and children work together to over come fears, difficult behaviour and phobias.

I participated in running Webster Stratton parenting groups and implementing plans within the home.

I was also seconded to work within the nhs as a family support worker for the family and children with learning disability team.

Ive undertaken many other short courses such as nutrition, understanding health and conflict resolution, I am responsible for my own continuing Professional development and always updating my CPD.

I'm a single dog parent to two cocker spaniels!! so we do lots of walking. I enjoy the gym, dancing and generally usually the biggest kid of em all !!!
so as I mentioned I'm available more ad hoc babysitting and Emergency cover.
All certificates available and I have a enhanced DBS which is available to check at any as I have subscribed to the service.
