Hello, My name is Simonetta.
I live and work as a childminder in the Niddrie community.
I am a registered childminder under the name Danette.
Danette Childminding provides care for children within our friendly and welcoming home environment.
My years of experience working in social and health care across Scotland, including supporting children and adults in NHS Lothian hospitals, gave me a strong foundation in understanding individual needs. Alongside this, I have many years of
kinship care and often looked after my friend’s children and also
being a mother to my three children, aged 22, 15 and 12, has further strengthened my skills, empathy, and confidence in providing high quality care.
I recognise the uniqueness of diversity and belief that binds us as people and respect the rights of each child and their families. I also understand the importance of each child’s health and well-being and aim to collaborate with you to promote and achieve positive outcome for your child through daily practices.

Simonetta looked after our son from the time he was 14 months old and she is absolutely incredible. We were genuinely heartbroken to lose her as a childminder when we moved away from Edinburgh.
Our son, Ira, took a little while to settle in, but Simonetta was always so kind, loving and patient with him. She greeted us every day with the warmest, friendliest smile, which instantly put both Ira and us at ease.
Ira truly felt like part of the family, which is exactly why we chose a childminder over a nursery. We loved receiving videos of Simonetta’s daughter reading to him and seeing how naturally included and cared for he was. Simonetta also took the children out regularly — we loved seeing photos of their trips to the library, the park, and all the other adventures they went on.
She was also great at organising creative, messy play activities and always kept the days fun, engaging and stimulating. We miss Simonetta and cannot recommend her highly enough!

I returned to work after 12 years of being a stay at home mother of three so to say I was anxious about who I would get to take care of my children was an understatement however by magic I found Simonetta and her family who have been the most lovely family to get to know and work with. My son and daughter both love Simonetta and all the new and exciting things she does with them on a weekly basis. So needless to say I am able to go to work with the knowledge that my children are being very well cared for in a safe and respectful environment!

We couldn’t be happier with our choice!
We were so nervous as when our baby started he was only 13 months old but as soon as he met Simonetta he was at easy and so were we. She provide wonderful, creating and educational Montessori style activities in a save environment at home. But also takes Oliver out to parks, museums and his favourite thing is school pick up where he’s joined by other lovely children she look after. She provide healthy snacks and lots of videos/pics during the day. I know my baby is safe and have lots of fun when at Simonetta so I 100% recommend her service!
