About Me
Solo mum (self-employed musician) of two lovely girls aged 8 and 10. No pets. We all love being outdoors, playing, baking cakes, and talking. Both kids are smart, funny, and inquisitive. We are a (fairly) screen-free household and appreciate people who share the value of face-to-face contact.
My Requirements
Looking for a mature, calm, kind human to do occasional nannying/ad hoc babysitting - generally once or twice a week after school (pick up from Worsley Bridge Primary in Beckenham), plus the odd evening or weekend day/evening.
We need someone who will encourage and supervise homework, music practise, engage with creative play, and prepare basic meals. And someone who can self-regulate and show patience and kindness when the kids are tired.
My older daughter is insulin-dependent Type 1 Diabetic, and my younger daughter has orthographic dyslexia. Some experience of medical support and/or learning difficulties (SEND) would be helpful, although not essential. They’re both lovely, bright kids who respond well to engaged, interested adults.

Grace looked after my two girls, aged 1 and 3, when I was working in Edinburgh during the summer. She was fantastic - really kind and gentle with the children, resourceful in keeping them busy and happy, and great at helping keep their routine intact. She was always on time and I would be happy to book her again next time we are in Edinburgh. I am delighted to be able to recommend her to other parents.

Abigail looked after my two young daughters (aged 5 months and 2 years) for a few days while I was working in Glasgow recently. She was gorgeous with the kids - kind and gentle and smart - and she engaged my energetic toddler brilliantly. She managed mealtimes and bedtimes really well and I have no hesitation in recommending her to other parents. If we lived in Glasgow permanently, I think she would become part of our family. I feel very lucky to have found her for these few days.

I found Lorraine after several disastrous false-starts with nurseries and other childcare settings. She was calm and level-headed when I was struggling to find the right place for my daughter. My toddler took to Lorraine from our very first meeting. Within days she was asking when she would next be going to "'Rain's house". Lorraine is warm, sincere, professional, and very responsive to the needs of each individual child in her care. It is clear that she genuinely loves her work - surprisingly rare in my experience. She has been a total God-send for our family and I can't recommend her highly enough.
