About Me
Hello, I'm Deborah, known as Deb’s.
I'm an Ofsted-registered childminder in Hamworthy, Poole, and I've spent my whole career working with babies, young children and families.
I'm very proud to have been rated Outstanding by Ofsted since 2010 .

My Experience
I've worked with babies, young children and families for many years, in homes, nurseries and children's services.
• Childminder in Hamworthy, rated Outstanding by Ofsted from 2010 to present day
• Owned and managed day nurseries
•Family Outreach Worker and 0–5 Specialist Practitioner with BCP Council Children's Services, supporting families through Early Help and safeguarding
• Registered Children and Young People's Advocate (NCH)
• Counselling experience supporting perinatal mental health
This has given me a deep understanding of how babies develop, what families need and what helps little ones feel safe.

My Availability
I offer a limited number of funded places for children aged 9 months to 3 years, for families eligible for 30 hours of funding.
Days presently available: Tuesday and Wednesday
Hours: 7.30am to 5.30pm
Attendance: 2 full days a week

Stretched over 48 weeks of the year to cover your 2 days

What to bring
So your little one has everything they're used to, I ask parents to provide:
• Meals, snacks and milk, including formula or expressed breast milk
• Nappies, wipes and any creams you use
• Sun cream and a sun hat in warmer months
• Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, such as a coat, waterproofs and wellies
• Spare clothes, all labelled
• Any comforter, dummy or favourite toy that helps them settle
I provide a warm, safe home, fresh drinking water, and nurturing care and learning throughout the day.
My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
I currently offer a limited number of Early Years Funded places for children aged 9 months to 3 years.
Tuesday & Wednesday only
7.30am – 5.30pm
20 hours per week over 2 full days
Stretched funding offered across 48 weeks of the year
I offer funded places only, with a minimum booking of 2 full days per week.
My 48-week stretched offer is designed to give families consistent childcare throughout more of the year, rather than limiting funded childcare to school term times.
Children who are entitled to additional funded hours may be able to use their remaining entitlement with another childcare provider.
My Local Schools
This childminder has not yet informed us whether or not they provide any drop off or pick up services at local schools.

I used Debs on and off over 7 years ago.
This woman was & is a modern day Mary Poppins !
Her knowledge of children health, development and family law is extensive
My children have all loved her care. There’s a reason she’s Outstanding she goes above and beyond.
Her settings have always been, like her, bright and inviting, showing thought and consideration for the little ones in her care.
I cannot recommend her enough, she is professional through and through.
Deb not only supported and cared for my children, she supported & cared for me.

This Childminder has offered us a space and said she will keep it for us. I've signed all documents and we've agreed on a start date. On a start date and the next date my daughter was unable to attend (due to moving home), so I asked to invoice me in full (same principle as if she was sick). Debbie first agreed and said there will be no issues, however later said there is no space for us anymore. So, apparently kids cannot skip days for any reasons even when parents are happy to pay for full day. Also never registered me on Babys Days system despite agreeing on a start date. I would not recommend this childminder, as she can just reject your child with a very short notice

I am very disappointed to read your comments on my Childcare.com profile as I have been more than considerate and flexible with your requests.
I’m also most surprised by your ratings as you only spent 10 minutes meeting with me in my setting.
Having taken advice I will take this opportunity to retort your accusations.
*I would firstly like to point out that neither you or I have signed a contract.
*I have to date not even met your daughter. I did request a meeting back in May, June and July but you said it wasn’t convenient for you as you were moving.
* In May you requested childcare Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays with a start date 1st July 2021. This date was cancelled by you mid June, you requested a new date, the 13th of July 2021.
This date you cancelled on the 6th of July.
This week was supposed to be start week. You cancelled two more start sessions after 5pm the night before
Also can I add -
*You have not paid a deposit
*You have not paid any fees.
*You have completed a registration form for your daughter, which is an OFSTED requirement to even offer a settling in session without you present. However, as it transpires you did not answer all the questions honestly.
*You did not agree to pay in full for cancelled sessions.
I am not in a position to offer you childcare any longer. Childcare places are in very high demand in my area.
