About Me

My name is Jessica, I am 33 and based in Crystal Palace. I’m an enthusiastic outgoing professional nanny. I have over 15 years of experience in childcare settings, and 10 years as a private nanny in London.

I provide a loving and safe environment for all of the children in my care. Within this environment I help the child develop and grow in themselves through play and learning, both independently and with others. I take great pleasure in creating tailored resources that engage each child I care for as an individual, blending the interests they develop themselves with the skills that will help them in childhood and in life. Whether it’s hand-made colour scale palettes or crafting counting toys with their favourite characters, I innovate and ensure that every child gets the best start they possibly could.

I combine this with London-wide activities, where I can draw on my years of experience and knowledge to bring the child I’m caring for to interesting places and enriching activities. I also love researching and discovering new places and experiences for the children I care for to help them both socially and educationally. This has included the Discover Children’s Story Centre, excursions to the British Museum for homework inspiration, and events at the Tate Modern.

I also bring my Devon upbringing and experience to London – growing up in the natural world I have an abiding love of the outdoors and all its wonders. I am passionate about the importance of the British countryside and seas, and I love to pass that on to the children in my care. I make full use of the hidden and not-so hidden opportunities that London has to offer, especially the wetland centres, Royal Parks nature events and of course Kew Gardens.

I have extensive experience in cooking for children, and create and prepare age-appropriate meal plans for every child that I look after. These are not only healthy but also flavourful and help encourage the child to explore and expand their tastes. I have extensive experience in catering to dietary requirements and restrictions.

I always establish a caring and trusting relationship with any child in my care. I encourage manners and good behaviours by using clear and structured boundaries that are age and stage appropriate. I also provide a positive role model for such expectation. This allows me to keep them safe and happy during the day.
