Friend For 16 Year Old With Asd
About Me
We are a loving adoptive family about to move to Brighton from July, with transition starting from April. It’s a massive move for us and we need help from 1-2 kind, reliable young women to be friends to my daughters, help settle them in as well as offering consistent reliable friendship going forward.
My daughters are aged 16 & 17 Both girls are ASD & ADHD with attachment anxiety. They’ve experienced bullying as teens (hence the move). My youngest especially is very withdrawn from others. We want Brighton to be a new chapter for us all.
My Requirements
We need the support of 1-2 kind, reliable young women (17-30) to be friends, build confidence and connections through transition, and offer reliable and consistent friendship going forward.
In transition from July, we need someone who can take my youngest on regular visits in Brighton and maybe do a joint activity together (eg volunteering with animals, working at a stable). From September we need the same person to do something after college once a week and/ or a weekend for 3 hours.

I have 2 teens with complex needs. My youngest is very reserved and doesn’t like new people. Verity came in and bonded with her immediately - despite my daughter’s resistance. As a result we’ve seen my daughter’s confidence grow and grow, and smile and laugh in a way we haven’t seen for a long while. Verity is incredibly reliable and conscientious, and has an energy and positivity about her that engages and connects with young people. I would highly recommend her to other families.

Emily was due to come and meet us at home. She didn't turn up or let us know she wasn't coming. I messaged and called and we haven't had a response. Very disappointing and frustrating.
