About Me
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2010. I live in a three bed roomed house with a lovely back garden space for the children.
I have three sons. Two of my own and a step son. My two eldest have flown the nest but my younger teenage son and I all live together with my husband.
We have one well trained pet dog, that adores the children I care for and a tortoise. Both my pets play an important role in my setting.
I Love my job and aim to remain an Outstanding Childminder by making the most of all opportunities presented to me.
I take pride in knowing the differences I have made to many little lives and families.
Over the last three years I played a role DfE Covid 19 Childminder Mentor Program which gave me an opportunity to support and pass on my knowledge to other childminders.
My Experience
Combining my experience with raising my own children, the extensive training I have undertaken and childminding for 15 years, I feel I have plenty of knowledge within the childcare sector to provide quality care.
I have experience with various special educational needs, some with disabilities and am a strong believer in supporting transitions when moving to new settings and primary school.
I support learning outside and provide the children with a variety of day trips and experiences, whilst promoting learning from home using focused learning activities and craft that support each individual child’s learning and development.
My Qualifications
I have been graded Outstanding by Ofsted since May 2023.
I am an Early Years Education Provider which means I except Government funding. I also except various different childcare vouchers and am connected to the childcare tax free system. The Childcare Tax Free system allows you to put your childcare money into an account, the government will contribute to this and you’ll be able to pay me via this account.
I have a Diploma in Home Based Childcare, Graded A and have an Early Years SENCO qualification which I am very proud of. I am paediatric First Aid Trained and have completed a Safeguarding Level 3 and 4 courses.
I have completed an extensive range of other various courses including the Early Years Professional Development Programme (this takes 9 months), Food Safety, Allergies and Intolerance, Health and Safety, Delivering the EYFS, Early Years Inclusive Practice, Supporting Children with ADHD and continue to fulfil training expectations on a regular basis. I choose? training courses that will benefit the children I have at time.
My Availability
I HAVE A SPACE AVAILABLE FROM SEPTEMBER 2025, THREE DAYS A WEEK, MONDAYS, TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS.
I work 8am till 6pm Monday to Thursday.
I currently collect from All Saints C of E Primary School on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I have also been associated Barton Farm Academy, All Saints PreSchool, Lanterns PreSchool, Badger Farm PreSchool, Triangle PreSchool and Finkley Down Farm Nursery Winchester over my 15 years of childminding.
I have worked together with them to ensure the children in my care needs are fully met.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.80 per hour
I charge £5.80per hour and £2.50 to cook a dinner.
I charge exactly for the hours provided/contracted and have a 7 hour charge minimum for a day space.
I charge 45% of hourly fees for term time only children through the school holidays.

Jo provides a wonderful setting for our son to play and learn. Jo picked up on his interests, strengths and areas for development very quickly and has made learning new skills and experiencing new situations fun and exciting for him. We are so impressed with the opportunities he has for visits out to the zoo, museums, parks and toddler groups although he equally loves a day at Jo's house and garden with the variety of activities and experiences Jo organises at home too. Jo has a warm, caring nature with the children and communicates brilliantly with us as parents. We are very grateful to have found Jo!

Jo always has a happy and fun household setting. She has looked after my girls since they were babies (the first one started in 2010) and my eldest still loves to "go to Jo's". Jo has a warm, caring and supportive nature and quickly picks up on all the details of the kids' characters as they develop. I find it very re-assuring to know that Jo is naturally attuned to their needs. It is perhaps for this reason that their faces always light up at the thought of going to Jojo's house and they come home extremely happy and very contented. As parents we have always found Jo to be supportive, friendly, open and communicative. Jo is also incredibly organised.

Jo has been amazing at looking after our kids. She is passionate about what she does and provides the children with a wealth of fun learning opportunities ranging from messy play, going to the forest and songs or stories. She has a warm personality and my boys always look forward to a 'Jojo day'. Jo always ensures there's a detailed handover to make sure she can provide the best care. There are always lovely observations on what the kids have been up to. As a working mum in the childcare industry it makes me happy to know that they have a great time at Jo's and learning new skills along the way! I would definitely recommend 😊.
