So lucky to have found her!

We have known Mel as both nanny and as a childcare provider for our twins since finishing maternity when they were just 9 months old.
She is very caring towards the children, and quickly bonded with them which reassured us at quite a scary time.

Mel is great at taking the kids out on daily adventures, whether it be local playgroups, the park, aquarium or playdates, but is also great at recognising if the kids need a home day and has a house full of kids activities for learning , role play and general child led play. She is also great at updating us with photos and stories of what they have been up to across the day.

Both my children are happy in her company, and she has been very helpful with providing care when we have been really stuck.

Both kids look forward to a day at Mel's house, and love their time with her and the other kids in her care. They love Mel's children and their interactions with them .

I appreciate Mel's open approach and her personalised approach to the children in her care. I would certainly be happy to recommend her, and leave my own children in her care with great confidence.

Our Dream Childminder

Well.... Where do I start!

If you are reading this you maybe thinking of taking the scary steps in trusting someone else to care and love your little one. It's such a hard decision for any parent to make!!!

I met Mel in 2018 on a visit when I was having a complete melt down about childcare for my 10 month old. I had viewed several nurseries, childminders and Nannies and I just felt at this point my expectations and ideas on what I wanted for my daughter were perhaps unrealistic.

I felt I wanted her to be cared for in a home from home environment, listened too, loved and nurtured by someone who would treat them as part of their own family.

When I met Mel in her lovley home, I was surrounded by child let toys, activities and a setting that made me feel so welcome. She explained thoroughly about her vast experience and offered her credentials. We spoke in length about my fears, expectations and concerns, and Mel reasurred me in every way about how I was feeling and how normal this was!!!

We spoke in great detail about my daughter's allergy which is extremely severe and her understanding and compassion towards this really made me feel at ease.

We had several conversations following our meeting and I decided she was for our family!!!!

She is a credit to the industry and my daughter absolutly loves her! Now, at 17 months old , She's reaching all her milestones and exceeding them! Her language and social skills are incredible for her age and she absolutly loves spending time with the other children in Mels care! They have so many adventures together all around Plymouth and I often get craft cards and plates that they make together ... She even made a father's Day card this year which was extraordinary!!!

She is safe, loved, nurtured and a member of their family!

I am so happy we met Mel and that she is such an integral part of our daughters early development

Fabulous minder, home and family

Mel covered a transitional period of 6 months between a full-time nanny and taking on an au pair. She is very professional and also very loving, friendly and caring. Her home is spotless and is a lovely large well-laid out home from home. Her kids are also wonderful kids (which tells you something). Mel is on the ball with all the professional side of being a childminder and is attentive to developmental needs and progress. A great childminder and we were lucky to have her.

Experienced, calm and caring Childminder

We were in the area for a close family funeral and wanted to ensure we got the right person to mind our two children (4 and 2 years). Melanie was prepared to meet us the day before and fit in with our schedule. She has many years of experience plus two children of her own. She came across as a very calm and caring person and on the day of looking after them, my daughter had a temperature and I quickly texted her as forgot my thermometer, she brought this plus calpol at short notice which greatly put my mind at rest. My children enjoyed her company and I felt very comfortable leaving them with her. I would recommend Melanie and would definitely be in touch with her if in the area again and we need childcare. Thank you.
