My name is Shamsa Ahmad, and I am a fully registered childminder with The Care Inspectorate, offering over 10 years of hands-on experience in providing quality childcare. I now work closely with my eldest daughter, who is also a registered childminder, creating a family-oriented atmosphere that children and parents trust.
I am passionate about providing a warm, homely environment that supports children of all ages and backgrounds. My goal is to offer families a reliable and genuine childcare solution, rooted in respect, empathy, and a belief that every child deserves the best start in life. I take pride in maintaining a pet- and smoke-free home, staying actively involved in childcare workshops, and regularly updating my training to ensure I offer the highest standard of care.
My Experience
I have four children who are all very well balanced lovely people whom I am very proud of. My recent experience is working as an assistant for the last three years, aswell as previously having experience as a teacher. I was very inspired while working here with all the different age groups of children. I learnt how to deal with the different needs and demands of every child that I was looking after and also have participated in courses to further gain knowledge for children of special needs. I have also carried out all necessary training to become a registered childminder.
My Qualifications
Elementary Foood Hygiene, Level 3 Childcare, Child Protection Training, Child Weight Management, Child Neglect Awareness & Protection, Paediatric Nursing and First Aid, Health and Safety and Recognising and supporting children with SEN.
My training will continue along side my service as I like to keep up to date with all new procedures.
My Availability
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Charges start from £6 per hour for full time hours and £8 per hour for part-time/holidays, weekends and evenings.

Absolutely fantastic childcare service! We have used both the childminding service and the at-home babysitting service with Amarra, Haleema and Shamsa, including childcare at an event, and we honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Our twins and toddler are always so happy and excited to see them, which gives us such peace of mind knowing they are in safe, caring hands. They are brilliant with all three of our children and always make them feel comfortable, happy and well looked after.
Communication is also fantastic. They are always great at keeping in touch, providing updates when needed, and have always been incredibly flexible and accommodating whenever we’ve needed to make changes or arrange childcare at short notice.
It’s so reassuring to have childcare providers we completely trust and feel comfortable leaving all three of our children with. Amarra, Haleema and Shamsa genuinely go above and beyond, and we are so happy to have found Little Steps Childcare! ❤️

Little Steps Childcare looked after my baby across my wedding event dates and I am beyond satisfied — truly so happy with everything! The level of professionalism is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The way they handled my baby, managed every situation, and cared for him with such kindness and confidence was absolutely amazing. I felt completely at ease the whole time knowing he was in the best hands. If you need childcare for any event — these are the people to book! 10/10, thank you so much xx

My twins attend after-school care with Shamsa, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the support she provides. She is incredibly caring, attentive, and creates a safe, nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and happy.
What I appreciate most is her flexibility—she is always accommodating when it comes to ad hoc or last-minute requests, which has been a huge help for our family. Her reliability and genuine kindness really stand out.

We've only been with Ammarah and Shamsa for a few months, but we honestly couldn't be happier with our choice. Leaving your toddler with someone new is always nerve-wracking, but she made the transition so smooth — our little one (18 months) took to her almost immediately, which told us everything we needed to know.
What really sets Ammarah apart is how warm and caring she is, you can tell it's not just a job, it's a genuine vocation. Our children come home having done brilliant activities and is clearly learning and developing every day.
On top of that, Ammarah and Haleema have been incredibly flexible and reliable, which as working parents means the world to us.

I couldn’t recommend Little Step enough! My kids have been with Shamsa and Amarrah for a few months now, and they absolutely love spending time there. The whole family gets involved, and they’re all such kind, genuine, down-to-earth people.
As a single parent, their support has meant so much to me, they’ve always been understanding, flexible, and ready to help with pick-ups, drop-offs, and anything else that comes up. They truly go above and beyond to make sure the children are happy and feel at home.
My kids are always busy with fun, engaging activities both inside and outside the house, and they come home full of stories and smiles. It really feels like a second home for them.

Shamsa has been an absolute blessing to our family. She provides a warm, caring, and nurturing environment where children truly thrive. Olivia looks forward to every visit and always comes home happy and full of stories.
Her flexibility and understanding of each family’s needs are exceptional. She goes out of her way to support parents in different situations, and that level of care makes such a difference. Her own children are also wonderful, kind, respectful, and great role models for the little ones.

Shamsa and her family are professional and welcoming people. My very first experience with childminder and I could not be happier. Looked after my two children while I had to go to work meeting. Regularly shared pictures of my kids so I wouldn’t have to worry. Both of them enjoyed their time with you in your beautiful home. Thank you
