About Me
My names Hettie and I'm 28 years old. I'm originally from Yorkshire, where I grew up in a large family of 7, but have lived in Bristol on and off for the last 10 years. I'm a friendly, positive and reliable individual and I have a genuine passion for childcare. I'm currently studying at UWE to achieve a Primary Education degree, with the view to teach in schools once I have graduated. I have experience working closely with children, most recently supporting a lovely little girl in Bristol 2-3 times a week for the last 1.5 years (8 months - 2+ years). Sadly the family's circumstances have changed so this is now only occasional support.
Other experience includes living with three different families in France and Sydney as an au pair, working in nurseries and primary schools as a teaching assistant and teaching English in Vietnam as a TEFL Teacher. I also have an interest in supporting those struggling with their mental health, and hold a CPCAB Level 3 Counselling Certificate and have previously volunteered for Samaritans.
My Experience
Currently at UWE Studying a BA (Hons) Degree in Childcare. Taught as a TEFL Teacher. in Vietnam for several months Dec-Jan 2019. I've au paired for three different families in France and Sydney, looking after children aged from 14 months-11 years old. I have worked in a variety of nurseries and primary schools part time through an agency. Last year I completed a one year placement at a primary school in Clifton with the reception class, alongside nannying for a 18month-2 year old in Clifton for the last 8 months. Tasks include preparing meals, driving to and from school and after-school activities, completing homework together, reading stories and playing, personal care assistance e.g. nappy changing and being a positive, encouraging role model. I also have 3 years experience as a Primary Consultant, involving teaching others how to work as a teaching assistant, and how to support children with SEND.
I have also completed a placement working with ASD and ADHD children and throughly enjoyed this type of support.

Counselling Studies - Certificate Level 2 & 3: CPCAB
A Levels: Psychology: A, Art: B, Law: B

My Availability
My availability is different every week so seeking regular but flexible work. Happy to confirm dates in advance but please note each week is varied. Consistently available before 9am and after 5pm Monday-Thursday.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
