Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant – Roughlee & Brinscall
Early mornings, school runs, after-school care | Flexible hours | Paid mileage

I am looking for a reliable, caring and exceptionally organised part-time nanny/family assistant to help with my eight-year-old son, Charlie, who is going into Year 3 at Brinscall St John's Primary School.
Charlie is an only child with a very busy social calendar! He attends numerous extracurricular activities, so I am looking for someone who can help keep his school routine, clubs and activities running smoothly.
We live in Roughlee, while Charlie attends school in Brinscall. I also have a farm in Brinscall and run a furniture manufacturing business in Accrington, so my working days are long and often hectic.
I generally work from 6am until approximately 5.30pm, and I need someone dependable who can help make our mornings and afternoons more manageable.
What the role involves
• Early-morning care at our home in Roughlee, with starts potentially from 5.30am.
• Helping Charlie get ready for school, including breakfast, uniform, school bag and any kit needed for the day.
• Driving Charlie from Roughlee to Brinscall for school.
• School collections and transport to extracurricular activities, as agreed.
• Keeping on top of his school diary, clubs, activities and anything he needs to bring with him.
• Helping prepare for the following day so that everything is organised in advance.
• Providing a consistent, caring and positive presence in Charlie's routine.
Organisation and initiative are particularly important. I am looking for someone who can take ownership of Charlie's day-to-day schedule, anticipate what needs doing and help reduce the constant juggling that comes with work, school and activities.
Hours and flexibility
The exact days and hours are open to discussion with the right candidate.
Early-morning availability is important, but I am happy to discuss a regular arrangement that works for both of us, including school runs, afternoon care and occasional additional hours.
As the morning start can be very early, overnight accommodation can be offered on agreed weekdays if preferred, purely for convenience. This is optional, and there is no requirement to live in.
Occasional weekend care may also be available by prior agreement.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be kind, trustworthy, punctual, confident and genuinely enjoy spending time with children.
Previous childcare experience, excellent references, an appropriate DBS check, a full driving licence and your own reliable car are essential.
Mileage for using your own vehicle will be paid in addition to your agreed wages.
Above all, I am looking for someone who can build a lovely relationship with Charlie and become a trusted, dependable part of our family routine.
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience and agreed responsibilities.
