Amy
Nanny in London: Bexley
My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Amy. I am a Level 3 Childcare practitioner with 10 years experience working with children in multiple childcare settings (3 months to 11 years). I also am a driver so I’m able to commute easily.
My Experience
I am currently a nursery practitioner working in the preschool room (2.5-3.5 years). My day consists of planning precise activities based on each of my children’s need to help with their 3 primary areas of development, teaching them different things from colours, counting, self assurance/confidence to toilet training and pre writing tasks. I know my children and their families like the back of my hand and put my all into building the children to be the best they can.
My previous nannying role is looking after a 12 month old baby and a 5 year old. During my role here I look after the baby by feeding him, putting him to bed, changing his nappy etc. The baby also has underlying health conditions in which I would help with, I helped him exercise to further his physical development, feed his milk through a feeding tube and I put him on a ventilator whilst he sleeps. During the day the elder child was at school, I collected him at the end of the day and helped him with reading and homework when we were back.
Within my Childcare training, I have worked in Nursery and Primary School settings caring for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and KS1 children.
Whilst at the nursery, I worked alongside room leader practitioners throughout the day helping through all the routines, such as Meal time - preparing the meals, feeding the children, making up bottles and sterilising the equipment, Nap time - making up the beds, encouraging the children to sleep and creating a soothing environment and Play time - taking the children to the local park, singing and dancing and reading stories. In the Primary School setting I worked as a TA to help and encourage the children throughout lessons, listen to the children reading - prompting and gently correcting the children when necessary and watching over them during lunch and break time.
I have experience working in a children's club aged 5-11 years, providing childcare during school holidays for working parents. Within this I would care for the children through play, such as being responsible for their welfare whilst in the swimming pool and park, prepare, serve and clear away their food, prepare and maintain activities such as arts and crafts and ensure they enjoy their day by meeting their holistic needs whilst maintaining a safe and secure environment.
My first Nannying job I looked after a 7 year old boy after school for 19 months. During this role I would pick him up and walk him back to his home, accompany him with his homework, prep cook and serve his dinner, clean up any mess we had made, make his bed, wash his clothes and any other parent help that was needed. I would also drive him to any extra curriculum activities.
