My Summary

My Experience

I currently work for Randstad where I go to different nurseries and primary schools to work as a nursery practitioner or teaching assistant around Sheffield. As I am not based in one location I must adapt every week in a new environment. All nurseries/schools have different procedures and I communicate with new children, staff and parents weekly.

As a nursery practitioner I work with children age 0 months to 4 years. I spend a lot of time playing with the children involving arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and singing. I work long hours, staying enthusiastic, using my initiative and encouraging the children to use their imagination.

I have experience changing nappies, ensuring children have clean clothes and sterilizing equipment. Understanding the importance of health and safety is a key factor when working with children for example making sure the environment is safe, making sure all toys are age appropriate, and understanding any potential risks.

Alongside my degree and work, I enjoy yoga and meditating. I have also volunteered in Leeds Children’s Hospital and Save The Children
