About Me
Hello, I’m Maggie, and I run Avery’s Childminding in Bretton — a friendly, welcoming home-based setting located in a quiet green area just off the parkway. Working with children has always been my passion, and as both a childcare professional and a mum, I know how important it is for little ones to feel safe, valued, and supported.
At Avery’s Childminding, we combine a warm, family-style environment with a strong educational approach. Our setting is overseen by a qualified primary teacher, ensuring that children experience high-quality learning opportunities through play, exploration, and individualised support. We celebrate each child’s uniqueness and carefully tailor activities to their interests, needs, and developmental stage.
Since moving from London four years ago, I have loved building trusting, lasting relationships with local families. Many of the wonderful children I’ve cared for remain in touch today — something I am incredibly proud of.
We are delighted to have received great feedback from families about our nurturing approach, our communication, and the progress their children make while with us. My Experience
At Avery’s Childminding, my helpers and I provide a warm, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, happy, and ready to learn. With many years of experience working with families from diverse backgrounds, we pride ourselves on offering individualised care that respects each child’s routines, needs, and personality.
We create calm, consistent routines to help children feel secure throughout the day. Our nap times are flexible, with cosy options including cots, nap mats, or a peaceful rest space. We also have strong experience in potty training, supporting little ones gently as they build independence and confidence.
Healthy eating is central to our setting. We prepare fresh, home-cooked meals every day using balanced, nutritious ingredients, and we happily accommodate dietary needs or cultural preferences.
One of the highlights of our home is our beautiful garden. With a pergola for shade and shelter, children can play and explore outside in all weathers — planting, digging, enjoying sensory activities, or listening to stories in the fresh air. Outdoor learning is a big part of our daily routine.
We also offer weekly music sessions with the Music Man and visits from Jo Jingles, giving children opportunities to develop confidence, communication, rhythm, and creativity.
At Avery’s Childminding, we aim to be flexible, supportive, and family-focused, ensuring every child feels valued, seen, and excited to come each day. We would love to welcome you for a visit.

Absolutely at ease knowing my son loves it here! Everyone is caring and you can tell they adore all the children at the nursery. I viewed many nurseries before deciding on this for my 1 year old. A real warm and friendly atmosphere.

My daughter has been going to this childminder for the 2nd year now, the childminder is so lovely caring and loving you can see they do the job with a passion and my daughter always comes home super happy and always looked after, they do so many different activities through out the day which has been amazing for my daughters development and you can always tell they truly care, if I had any issues with being late or anything like that they have always been flexible and super understanding

Maggie and Oliver were a lucky find when we moved to the area and needed immediate help for the month. They managed to fit my 16m old daughter in at short notice and we never could have anticipated what absolute gold dust a find they would be. Theirs is a fantastic environment, completely dedicated to children, who receive wonderful attention in their care, including great food, warm and loving attention, and a stimulating environment. My daughter (who is now at nursery) still asks for them, and was happy to be dropped off every day that she was there. We will stay in touch!

A Truly Wonderful Childminding Experience – Forever Grateful
After a difficult experience with a previous childminder who couldn't fully understand my son's needs, I was anxious about finding the right place for him. From the very first meeting with Maggie and Oliver at Avery’s Childminder, all of those worries disappeared. They welcomed both my little one and our family with such kindness and warmth that it instantly felt like home.
Maggie has treated my son as if he were one of her own, with love, patience, and genuine care. Since he started attending, we’ve seen such a positive change in his behaviour—something we’re so thankful for. Not once have we had any complaints. It’s clear Maggie truly spends quality time with the children, giving each one the individual attention they need to thrive.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my son receives. Knowing he is happy, understood, and well looked after brings such peace of mind. Thank you so much for taking such beautiful care of our precious boy. We will be forever grateful.

Maggie has been with taking care of my little boy since he was 5.5 months old. She definitely knows her onions and is genuinely a kind person. You can tell over time that she's real, not putting up a front and this is not about the money for her.
One thing that I love about her in particular is that she listens and acts on feedback. I like that we both learn about my baby's growth and she takes in to consideration everything I tell her about my baby which is so important to me. His feeding, cleaning, and general care have been lovely with her and he loves her too.
She is also so warm and has a great relationship with every person she has worked with. This lady has an amazing community of parents around her and that's a green flag!!

Maggie is wonderful! Firstly, thank you so much for providing such valuable and trustworthy care. Not only was Maggie a caring and energetic babysitter, but she was also truly helpful in making my little one feel comfortable, happy, and easy to adapt to the new environment. She was very helpful in helping my son achieve his milestones. She is an expert at making delicious food and snacks that my little boy enjoys and asks for more. Her love for children is evident in everything she does.
My 2-year-old son got attached to her on the very first day, and he loves Maggie's family as they are all very loving. Little Avery is also very caring and loving towards him. My son loves all sensory activities and has made a lot of developmental progress. She also offers a lot of outdoor activities, singing sessions, musical sessions, and age-appropriate craftwork sessions.
I have full trust in her abilities to care for my child anytime. It was so nice to finally find a childcare provider that I could feel comfortable with right away. The best part is that Maggie is approachable at all times, and she always gives us updates about our son through audio and video texts, which makes us happy and keeps our minds at ease. I have to say that her flexibility makes our work possible and our life much easier!
Overall, Avery childminding is absolutely great and highly recommended. We love them and are thankful for their support, love, and care. 👍

When we arrived first time to Maggie's home, me, my husband and my son immediately felt welcomed into her home. She was enthusiastic and straight away I could feel that she was passionate about her job and wanting the best for the children in her care. Which put to me ease as this was the first time I was leaving my 4 month old in anyone’s care to return back to work. Now we are already one year together with her family and I can't imagine a better childminder.
Her facilities are brilliant and to a very high professional standard. I felt her home was safe, clean and well equipped. I believe she ensured all children are encouraged and supported to progress in her care. Overall my son are very happy in her care and enjoying time at her setting. I would highly recommend Maggie to anyone who is looking for a home to home environment, with a warm hearted childminder who really enjoys what she does.

We had Maggie to look after our son - she has been our part-time nanny for a year now and she is just amazing.
Maggie is a very caring and helpful person and very flexible and accommodating- helped out on so many occasion on my last minute requests. We couldn’t thank her enough for her help with our son and the house - we came back home to a very clean and tidy house and she always went an extra step and did laundry and bedding and other house bits for me which I appreciate so much.
My son absolutely adores her - she is so great with kids. She would do little activities with them, take them on bus rides and she always brought so many toys/ activities and snacks for him as well. My son has developed and grown so much since she joined.
Maggie and her lil beautiful girl Avery who came along, became part of our family and we are gutted she is leaving ( she is now a chilminder)
I have on a few occasions left my son at Maggie’s setting and it’s so child friendly.
She is someone who loves children and loves her job. I’ll take her back in a beat!

We absolutely love Maggie.
We needed help with our newborn baby during night time and started interviewing but couldn't find the right fit until we found Maggie. From the first moment she walked through the door she went straight to bond with the baby where as most nannies would seek to impress us as parents and chit chat, Maggie was all about the baby. We felt so relived to see how nice our baby took on to Maggie and how quickly they bonded. Maggie was always so respectful of our house rules, never wore any strong perfumes, would always wash her hands and just overall a clean lady. We love Maggie and her warm and kind manners we couldn't recommend her enough.
