About Me
I am very passionate about supporting children and families in however they need - whether this is through tuition, support within the home to create a more tranquil environment, providing respite to the family and the child by accompanying or taking the child out for day trips or through support with helping to manage challenging behaviour.
Over the years, I have taught children of various ages—from babies, toddlers and infants to school-aged children up to 17 year olds—and understand the importance of adapting to each child's unique needs and personality. I am CPR and First Aid certified, highly organised, and enjoy creating positive relationships with all of the students in my care.
My Experience
My business, SEND Support, provides tailored advice to familes, children and schools regarding their education, home life or daily struggles which you may be facing. I have been passionate about helping every child achieve meaningful outcomes throughout my career. For some, this has meant academic success; for others it has involved developing purposeful communication, building confidence and independence or securing the right specialist placement.
I have over 10 years experience of working with children, including those with additional needs such as Autism or behavioural difficulties. I have worked in a mainstream school, providing an education based on the National Curriculum, as well as working at a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) and a Special School. Whilst at these different provisions, I have gained a wide range of skills and have developed my expertise to enable me to meet varying needs.
My Qualifications
Bachelor of Primary Education (BEd) from the University of Winchester.
SEND Diploma
SEND experience - trauma training, Therapeutic Thinking, Team Teach trained, Makaton (Levels 1-4) and trained Makaton tutor, PECS trained as well as supporting individuals with specific diagnoses such as ASC, ADHD, PICA or Polydipsia.
Full driving license (clean), my own car and trained in Advanced Driving.
