My Summary
About Me
I live in Norden Village with my 2 children age 16 and 20. I am ofsted registered and started childminding when I had my second child and haven't looked back. I had initially wanted to do this while my children were little but once I started I felt I had found my vocation in life. The children bring me lots of joy and no one day is the same. I'm often learning new things off the children too. The children I care for become an extension of my own family and I am in ore of how they grow and develop whilst with me. I have a large kitchen diner and a dedicated play room. I'm very much lead by children's individual interests with some added learning thrown in. We do lots of learning outdoors as well as indoors and I myself love the great outdoors. I like to keep fit and healthy and enjoy walking, aqua Zumba and swimming, As a teenager I swam for the county, The children and I visit our local library, stay and play sessions, farms ,parks, swimming and explore what we have on our door step. We also travel further afield at times and have enjoyed visits to Eureka, The Icecream farm and various museums. I provide a varied selection of resources and activities at home for the children including home corner, book area, messy play, play dough, role play, gardening and baking to mention a few. Children are encouraged to be independent learners and do this in a variety of ways. They will help in food preparation and choices, help set out and tidy away activities, put on own shoes and coats. The children are on the path to getting ready for the next stage in their life....starting nursery/school. Here I try to do this by providing a safe, fun and exciting time for the children.
My Experience
Firstly and foremost I am a Mum to my 2 children. I have a Level 3 in early years care and education. While completing this I worked in a number of nurseries for my work experience. I have completed the High 5 Rochdale quality award and strive to keep up to date with legislation by doing regular training for professional development. I have an up to date paediatric first aid qualification, have completed a
Level 3 Elklan speech and language course for children age 3-5 years.
I also have experience Working with children with additional needs and worked closely with families and other agencies to ensure children had access to local holiday clubs. I am Safeguarding Lead at my setting, have an up to date certificate and regular update my knowledge by doing refresher training which covers all aspects of safeguarding
I have also in the past been a brownie and guide leader,
My Qualifications
Introduction to childminding

My Availability
I work Monday to Thursday at present and open all year round. I open at 7.30am and close at 5.30pm. I can do drop off and pick up from my local schools.
