Rose
Nanny in Brighton (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hello! I'm Rose, I'm 32 & I love creating art and music, writing stories, using my imagination & playing! I have 15 years of experience supporting & tutoring children, and know a great deal about neurodiversity & SEN, having worked for many years with people on the autism spectrum & with ADHD, & being neurodivergent myself.
I am keen to get out into nature and inspire children to develop a love of the outdoors, I have been involved in running forest schools for groups of Primary age children, events where we chaperoned a group into the woods and encouraged them to forage, make dens, spot birds and other wildlife, and understand the ways in which nature works.
I also am passionate about taking children on visits to museums, art galleries & to see live music. I am a big fan of listening to classical music live! I play the drum kit, keyboard, guitar, & am a singer, & would love to bring these interests to work as a nanny or babysitter. I believe creativity can be an incredible way to help children explore their emotions in a calm and safe manner. I am a very empathetic person who appreciates the opportunity to help someone achieve their potential. I care about encouraging a sense of confidence in each child's unique abilities, interests and talents.
I am DBS checked. I do not drive but can use public transport. I love to cook & really enjoy teaching cookery skills!
My Experience
As well as having a great deal of experience as a childminder, I am a Support Worker at Grace Eyre Foundation, and was a Montessori Preschool worker, tutor & Forest School worker at Tomato Studios when I lived in London. I was also Special Educational Needs Learning Support for a student with autism at Sir George Monoux College. For the past 3 years I have been primary Support Worker for an autistic young man in Brighton.
I am a freelance English, Creative Writing and Art tutor, and have also worked in this capacity through tutoring agencies. Every student I have worked with has gone on to excel in their studies. I was very happy that the last student I worked with achieved an A*.
I have experience as a play worker at after school clubs, facilitating creative activities & games, preparing food, communicating with families and cleaning the space afterwards. I am adept at managing challenging behaviour in a calm manner.
I used to volunteer at Strawberry Hill House - helping with art, writing & drama workshops at their summer school for Primary age children (Twickenham).
