My Summary
About Me
My name is Emily and I am 30 years old and living in Didsbury.
I absolutely love being apart of helping children to develop and grow and building bonds with them. It is definitely a very rewarding job..and I take pride in providing fun, stimulating activities..
in my spare time I love to travel and try new things, singing, and reading.
My Experience
I have a level 5 foundation degree in child and family studies.
I currently work as a Nanny for a lovely family in Bowden looking after a five and three year old I have been doing this for 4 years.
Before this I worked at a Montessori nursery where I have worked and learned a lot about the Montessori approach and worked in the baby room.
Prior to this I worked 5 years at a EYFS nursery in the baby room..
During my 5 years working at this nursery I have been lucky to be able to volunteer in Bangladesh for 3 months with ICS where I worked within poor communities to help raise awareness and work alongside people in the community to build awareness on things related to sexual reproductive health rights..we went to schools to give speeches and sessions and also created our own events where we raised awareness on gender equality and child marriage.
I was also lucky enough to volunteer in Sri Lanka looking after rescued elephants in a sanctuary where again I got to experience working with people of different cultures and backgrounds.
I have also experienced being an au pair in Italy looking after a 5 year old boy.. which taught me a lot.
I’ve also worked as an afterschool assistant in this time and also done one on one care for a child with additional needs.
