My Experience

I have over six years' experience as a registered childminder, caring for children from babies through to school age, alongside my previous experience working within a school and raising my own three children.

I am a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator and Level 3 Early Years SENCO, and I regularly undertake further training and professional development to continue developing my knowledge and practice.

Over the years I have supported children through all stages of their early development, from settling into childcare for the first time, weaning and toilet training, through to developing communication, confidence and independence and preparing for the transition to school.

I have particular experience supporting children's speech, language and communication development and children who may need some additional support. I work closely with parents and, where appropriate, other professionals to understand each child's individual needs and ensure they receive the right support as early as possible.

I use WellComm as part of my approach to supporting communication and language and have experience using visual supports, Makaton and individualised activities and strategies where appropriate.

One of the most valuable things I've learned through childminding is that no two children develop, communicate or learn in exactly the same way. I get to know each child as an individual and adapt my approach to their personality, interests and needs.

Most importantly, I want children in my care to feel safe, secure and happy, have lots of fun and leave Hannah's House with wonderful memories of their early years.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly complete training to keep my knowledge and practice current.

I have also completed a wide range of additional early years training covering areas such as SEND, communication and language, child development, behaviour and emotional development, equality and inclusion, and health and safety.

I continue to undertake relevant training and professional development throughout the year to develop my knowledge and provide high quality, up-to-date care for the children at Hannah's House.
