My Qualifications

CURRENT ROLE – TEACHING ASSISTANT (2014 TO PRESENT) After having my own family I decided to become a Teaching Assistant. I have responsibility within the classroom and for children who require one-on-one assistance.
Worked from Reception - Year 6 alongside Class Teacher, streamed classes which meant I
had groups of children that I worked with daily in interventions including SALT in an adapted curriculum to suit child if needed. Social and emotional support and interventions including trained Draw & Talk Therapist.

AFTER SCHOOL NANNY (2020-2026)
I also took on a role to collect 3 children from another local primary school and care for them until parents arrived home. This entailed doing homework, spellings, reading. Provided tutoring for 11+ and SATS. I also made sure we had fun playing games, making cakes and arts and crafts. During school holidays I would work some days and take the children to parks, trampolining, cinema amongst other exciting adventures! The children are going to secondary school in September so my position is no longer needed.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE


FULL TIME NANNY FOR THREE CHILDREN (1999)
• Nannying for a family in Dartford with 3 children ages 14, 9 and 3. I stayed with them until youngest started school in 2000.

FULL TIME DAY CARE OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILD (1999)
• I decided to try a different type of job, for experience, in sales, however after a few months I realised it wasn’t as rewarding as caring for children.


FULL TIME DAY CARE OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILD (1994)
• In 1994 I started a four and a half year position with a family caring for 2 children, aged 3 and 18 months, until the family emigrated. This was a role where their mother ran her own business and so my responsibilities covered most responsibilities when it came to the children’s care. I had the responsibility to travel abroad with just the children several times so they could visit family in America. We created such a bond that I am still in contact with the family and the little girl was a bridesmaid at my wedding in 2000.

FULL TIME DAY CARE OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILD (1993)
• I returned home and obtained a post to care for a little girl, age 4, until she started full time school. Again, full time care, play dates, cooking, etc....


AU PAIR FOR TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN NEW YORK (1991)
• In 1991 I got the chance to go to the USA as an au pair for a year for two children aged 3 and 5. I was in sole charge and took them to school, playdates, doctors etc.. I had use of the family car and would drive the children into NY city every weekend to see their grandparents.


PART TIME ASSISTANT FOR NEW ELTHAM PLAYGROUP
• After completing my A-Levels my first job was a part time assistant in a playgroup helping out in the mornings for a few hours. This was a purely play based role with lots of interaction to stimulate learning and behaviour.
