I am a friendly, happy, easy going mature mother of two boys .I have over 25years experience in childcare ranging from nanny, childminder and nursery practitioner ,nursery manager. I am qualified to BA level in childhood practice. I enjoy supporting and guiding children to reach their full potential. I can provide knowledge and support in feeding, establishing a good routine, sleeping, weaning, toilet training and many other stepping stones.
I encourage activities that follow children interests including creative play, outside activities promoting learning in nature, books and independent learning in a positive and stimulating manner.
My positive and friendly attitude works well with families and I am a happy, easily approachable person.
My Experience
I have a passion for working with children and have over 25 year working with children age 0 to 12 years and
5 years nursery manager experience.
I have worked in Norway for a year as a live in nanny and the uk as live out childrens nanny with children ranging from 3 months to 8 yrs .
I have my HNC in Childcare and Education, HND in Childhood Practice and My BA in Childhood Practice. Also fully first Aid trained.

Jackie was a nanny to our 3 year old twins before they started preschool full time. Her responsibilities included: organising daily activities, taking the twins on day trips / to toddler classes, preparing meals, light housework and ad-hoc babysitting. Jackie was 100% reliable and trustworthy. She was never late and never let us down. Jackie has such a warm, easy-going personality and was extremely patient. She fitted into our family immediately. You could really tell Jackie had worked as a childcare professional for her entire career. Our children warmed to her instantly and still ask for her.
Jackie was also very well organised and used her initiative and would come to our house with art projects she had pre-arranged for them. Jackie also arranged lovely day trips to new adventure parks/walks around edinburgh . Jackie and the children collected bits of nature on their way and used it in art projects at home. We never heard our children moan with her because they were constantly entertained; jackie was great with imaginary play, reading stories, doing jigsaws etc. There was constant interaction - our children really loved it.
Jackie was a real asset to our family and I have no hesitation recommending her.

Hands down the best nanny that has ever joined our family. Jackie was our nanny from 2020 to 2021. She cared for our two sons, a 6 month old and 5 year old when she started with us. We sadly had to part with her due to our house move out of Edinburgh. We all miss her dearly but have kept contact over the years and our friendship with her hasn't changed. She is genuine, kind with loads of knowledge and experience. Her attitude was always upbeat. She is a very reliable person and we always had full confidence in her capabilities. Jackie is full of ideas and is eager to help out, being mindful and respectful of everyone's needs. The kids absolutely adored her and their relationship with her is beautiful and special. From our experience, any family who has the opportunity to have Jackie as a nanny is incredibly lucky. We feel very fortunate to have had her as our nanny and as a forever friend in our lives.
