About Me

Hi there! My name is Olivia and I am an active career nanny looking to join a new family. I am fully qualified, with a degree in Primary Education, and have a wide range of experience with children from 6 months up to 16 years of age. I am comfortable around any pets and I like to keep active and healthy, being a confident skier and swimmer. I am also confident driving children, full clean license and lots of experience driving children in many different countries.

My Experience

I have over 11 years experience being a Nanny for various families and many more in educational settings.

I am currently at the end of taking a break from Nannying due to various reasons (including family and Covid). I have spent the last couple of years as a Tutor to children from the age of 6 to 15 years old, but primarily focused on 11+ examinations. I have also provided STEM speciality subject and teaching knowledge to local Kent educational settings.

I have spent 8 years working as a Live In Nanny/ Governess across Europe (mainly in Kensington and Ibiza) for a HNW family with three girls, aged 2, 5 and 9 (at start of position) on a three-week-on two-week-off basis. Duties included all of the usual daily organisation, including school PE kits and lunches, many different trips to the parks and museums, travelling with the family, caring for the children at night, as well as proxy parenting. Additionally, I helped organise the families schedule and holidays, buy presents for all birthdays, assist the children with their homework and provide structured educational activities whilst travelling. For the last four years the family had been living in Ibiza during term time, where alongside the previous tasks I was also responsible for all of the family shopping and driving the children, whilst also preparing the children for their entrance exams and keeping up their education to the relevant level of their return into the English School system. During my time with the family I have risen to many unique challenges that have pushed me to go above and beyond the normal range of nanny duties, including hosting last minute themed parties for a large number of children and adults. This role has since come to an end now the children have grown up.

Before this position I spent a year completing temporary work, including one summer working as a Live In Nanny in London and Tuscany for a family with two young boys, aged 1 and 3. This role involved plenty of time on the beach; swimming, snorkeling and fishing, as well as sharing a room with the little one whilst traveling with the family, and teaching the eldest English to prepare him for London school assessments. I have also been a Live In Nanny in London, for girls aged 7 months and 4 years, which was a busy sole charge role including all aspects of the children's care, following a strict daily routine, as well as shopping for and cooking the families meals and the babies purees, followed by accompanying the family at the weekends to their country estate.

I have previously spent 7 months as a part time Live Out Nanny, looking after very active twin 14 month old boys. This involved plenty of trips to local farms and parks, alongside lots of stimulating creative and educational games to keep their minds active and positively engaged.

My first Nanny position was in 2009, in Courchevel for 5 months as a Private Holiday Nanny looking after a different family each week, ensuring that the children had such as fantastic a time as their parents. I spent a great deal of time involved making themed crafts and cooking with the children, as well as lots of snow based activities.

During my Primary Education degree at Canterbury Christ Church University I taught in various Nurseries, Infant and Junior schools across Kent. Among many things I learnt a great deal about child development, how to recognising learning styles and adapt learning to them, as well as how to support structured and free play. My knowledge gained during the course my degree has been invaluable to me and underpins my work as a nanny, allowing me to bring the best out of children in my care and support their education at home.

Before my degree I enjoyed two years volunteering with 4-6 year old children as a Young Leader for Beaver Scouts and many different babysitting jobs, as I have always had an affinity for working with children.

My wide range of experiences working with children assist me in making sure that a family received the highest degree of care and support possible. I will be able to bring my background in the education of children, through my placements within schools as part of my degree, to integrate learning into everyday activities that they enjoy, as well as the care of a wide age range of children from my positions as a Nanny to ensure the family are happy and healthy, and the household is organised and runs smoothly.
