About Me
Hello! I am a Primary education student specialising in early years who is enthusiastic, caring and patient. Family is a very big part of my life - I have grown up in a large family surrounded by children of all ages and I have been childminding for family and friends on a weekly basis since I turned 13. I most regularly care for my five younger cousins where I assist in daily chores, preparing their 3 meals a day, planning our days together - often going on outdoor adventures to encourage engagement with nature. This experience has led me to communicate easily with children and handle stressful situations calmly. During my volunteering at a local primary school over the years, I worked with P1s and supported children with additional support needs. I adapt to the interests and abilities of the children in my care. In my spare time I love painting, playing guitar, cycling and walking my dog; Poppy!
My Experience
Over the past few years I have volunteered as a learning assistant at a local primary school where I developed a deeper understanding of how to teach using a child centred approach. I worked 35 hours a week at Andrew
Cameron from 8:30-4:00 where I worked closely alongside my mentor in caring for her key group of 9 children and supported children all throughout the centre. My daily duties included organising age appropriate activities that engaged children, assisting with snack and lunch, encouraging development through a piaget-vygotsky approach, cleaning and washing and ensuring all children felt safe and secure. I gained a new sense of creativity with utilising different resources and developed a high level of patience. I formed a close relationship
with a child with additional support needs where I learned how to adapt to unexpected situations and support all different individuals. I have a PVG and training in ACES. Throughout my experience with children I have cared for children of varying needs and in diverse settings so I feel confident in my childminding skills and abilities.
My Qualifications
I left school at 17 to pursue a childcare career with 5 Higher qualifications (Art: A, English: A, Chemistry: B, Physics: C, Maths: C) and 5 National five qualifications (Art: A, English: A, Chemistry: B, Physics: B, Maths: A)
My Availability
Currently I have flexible hours as my studies are online and can be arranged to suit your times, I currently do not have a driving licence but can travel on bike or through using public transport.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
My fees start at £9 per hour.
