About Me
I am a 23 year-old graduate who is friendly, flexible and creative. I find it easy to from strong bonds with children and their families and truly love working with young people. I have a first class degree in Education, Culture and Childhood, a fully updated DBS check and plenty of experience working with young children from all over the world. I am a dedicated Auntie to my two nephews, aged 4 months and 2 years old and love looking after them and babysitting when needed. I know how to create a fun and friendly environment for children and am quite happy to get involved in any activity, whether it be arts and crafts, doing homework, baking, playing sports, reading or den building! I have a strong interest in doing further training in Early Years Education as well as expanding my career as a Literacy/English as a Foreign Language tutor. I do not have my own car but I am happy to do walking/bus pick-ups from schools, cooking and cleaning when necessary!
My Experience
As I stated in my 'About Me' section, I love looking after my nephews and have spent a lot of time looking after the eldest one, who has just turned 2 years old. This has included cooking meals, taking him to playgroup and the park, bathing him and putting him to bed.
I have worked in English-Speaking international junior schools in South Korea and Spain with ages 5-12, as well as working as a Boarding House Assistant, where I would prepare afternoon snacks, supervise and help with homework and organise fun games and activities for the children. I have also spent time volunteering in Fiji with young children in rural villages and have babysat my husbands younger brothers who live in Fiji, aged 9 and 12.
During my degree, my dissertation research was based on children' play behaviour so I spent time working in a nursery during this period where I gained additional experience with early years childcare.
My Qualifications
1st Class Degree in BA Education, Culture and Childhood - University of Sheffield, UK.
120-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate with TEFL Org UK.
40-hour Teaching English Online Certificate with TEFL Org UK.
My Availability
I am available to work any time of day, including weekends, as required and am happy to do very late nights as long as I am still able to get a taxi home safely afterwards.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
Rates are set at £10 an hour although I am happy to negotiate if I am visiting multiple times a week. If I am leaving past 9:30pm, I would appreciate a contribution to a taxi fare home if the journey is more than a 10 minute walk.
