About Me

*Ad-hoc daytime babysitter for lovely 3-year-old with additional needs*

We are looking for a kind, confident and engaging babysitter to help care for our 3-year-old son, on an ad hoc basis, mainly for a few hours during school hours on weekdays. And in future maybe more.

Our son has cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. He needs full physical support and isn't independently mobile, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable and confident caring for a child with additional physical needs.

Experience with children with SEND, cerebral palsy or developmental delay would be particularly welcome.

The role would mainly involve spending time with him at our home — playing, chatting and interacting with him, offering sensory and developmentally appropriate activities, and helping with his meals. He loves engagement and we would really like someone who enjoys finding ways to stimulate him, make him laugh and give him interesting sensory experiences.

Our son is spoon-fed and needs support with positioning and moving between his different seating/play positions.

Full guidance and training would be given so that you feel completely comfortable with his individual needs and routines.

There are no medical or nursing interventions required.

Initially we are looking for someone we can get to know and call upon for occasional daytime babysitting, giving us a few hours' break while our son is happily occupied and cared for. There may also be scope for more hours later in the year.

Above all, we're looking for someone warm, patient and playful who genuinely enjoys engaging with children with additional needs and would like to build a relationship with our child.

Based just outside Potten End on the way into Hemel Hempstead (HP1). We also have 2 cats.
