Jo C
Nanny in Sheffield (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
My name is Jo, I am a 21-year-old Engineering student. I took a year out of my studies and worked as a full-time nanny last year. Looking after two children who were 6-months and 2 years when I started. So, I have a lot of experience in caring for younger children.
I am friendly, out-going, and dependable with a wide range of skills from my academic, work, and voluntary experience. I have always loved children and have been babysitting very regularly as a part-time job and for my family for the past 7 years as well as the recent nannying. Looking after children from 18 months to 11 years. I have also worked in a care home for elderly residents which was an amazing experience that made passionate about caring and taught me a wide range of highly transferable skills form professional cooking and cleaning to basic medical care.
I have experience in teaching older primary aged children from homeschooling my 10-year-old brother during the first lockdown. I am also a skilled mathematician and scientist and can offer tutoring in this to a very high level. I have a wide range of interests, with passions for sustainability, social justice and cooking!
I have an advanced DBS check and can provide references. :)
My Experience
Full-time Nanny for 6-months
• Looking after a baby from 9-5 every weekday. I had full responsibility for her so I did all feeding, bath time and lots of playing!
• Looked after a two-year-old before and after nursery. Had to help get him ready and out of the house then did a wide range of activities with him before tea time.
• Juggled both children in the mornings and evenings.
I have done lots of both paid and unpaid childcare for both family and clients.
• I have looked after children from the ages of 18 months to 11 years.
• Done basic care, helped with homework, encouraged learning through the activities we did.
• Experience in homeschooling a 10-year-old during the first lockdown.
I also worked at Boucherne which is a care home for elderly residents in Essex. This involved:
• Spending time with the residents on social activities such as arts and crafts, going to concerts and having conversations. Learning new skills in communicating with residents who were hard of hearing or who have experienced memory loss.
• Performing domestic duties such as cleaning, cooking, gardening, and minor repairs.
