About Me
Hello my name is Megan lee. I'm 22 years old and I live in sheerness.
I’ve worked in childcare for 6 years and have 5 siblings who I have babysat for, I’ve also babysat for family friends and parents of previous nurseries I have worked for.
I’m a very friendly chatting person and get on with everyone I meet, I’ve got very good experience of parent partnership through working in nurseries and also experience of working with other professionals linked with childcare. I have very good communications skills, and will keep parents informed of how their children are doing whilst in my care.
I’m working towards building my professional learning, and love to widen my knowledge of childcare but also other career paths.
I’m a very creative person and love to encourage learning and development through messy and sensory play. I also have a love for Pinterest activities! But I also like to encourage skilled activities to develop maths and English skills.
I offer visits to parks, and walks to encourage light exercise and movement as this helps with children’s mental health and wellbeing.
Unfortunately, I do not have my driving licence but am currently working towards getting it.
I offer drop off and pick up from local nurseries and schools.

My Experience
I have worked in childcare for 6 years. I started a 2-year college placement in a nursery in 2014 with children the age of 3-4 years, I also worked one to one with children with autism while doing my placement and gained some valuable knowledge of supporting the development of children with SEN.
I have also attended portage groups with my mother and siblings in 2008-2012 for the support of other families with children that have disabilities as my youngest sister has Mosaic Downs Syndrome. Whilst attending these portage groups I developed a love for learning about children with disabilities and how to support them in their daily lives. Also I gained a new love of exploring new ideas of activities for the portage groups but also for future roles of nursery nurse.
I have also worked in a Montessori nursery for 4 years. Working with children between the ages of 3 months- 4 years. Whilst working in Montessori I learnt the importance of supporting the individual needs of a child during play and learning, I loved focusing my attention on teaching and taking care of all the children I looked after at Montessori. I developed very strong bonds with the children through, weaning, sleep routines, potty training and building positive professional relationships, but also keeping track of their development through planned activities and learning with individual learning journeys. I’ve found working in childcare to be very rewarding.
I have also ventured into a supporting living role but found that I much prefer working with younger children supporting their growth and development.
