About Me
Hi! I'm Isobel. A 21-year-old who's about to graduate from university. I grew up in Devon and am based in Exeter. I spend my free time scrapbooking, dancing in my room, crafting and travelling. I am currently building my photography business from the ground up and looking for ad-hoc babysitting and weekday childcare jobs to keep me busy.
My Experience
During my teen years, I did the odd babysitting for local families. I also did a week of work experience at a local primary school where I learned a lot about managing multiple children and keeping them engaged. I have been a nanny for 2 families (both with 2 kids) during my time as a student in Bristol (3 years) as well as ad-hoc babysitting for other families. The ages of the children I've looked after range from 3-13. I have a lot of experience with school runs, activities, bath time and bedtime. I also have experience as a housekeeper/cleaner and am more than happy to do odd jobs around the house to help out.
I am genuinely passionate about helping children grow and develop by creating a safe environment. I am very creative and love arts and crafts. The kids I look after are often encouraged to express their feelings through painting, drawing, colouring, and other craft projects. I take a strong interest in what the kids make and love it when they excitedly explain their creations to me. I also really like to encourage make-believe and often use it as a tool to teach life skills or help them reflect on their experiences. I am extremely tidy and organised. I can't help but clean up everywhere I go and I'll always arrive on time. I've been told I have a friendly and calming nature- ideal for child care! and I've won over a lot of shy/apprehensive kids.
I remember feeling misunderstood and disrespected as a child- I want to make sure the kids today feel secure and confident and teach them the tools they need to deal with tricky emotions and situations. I am passionate about giving children patience, respect and the tools to grow and develop.
My Qualifications
I have 3 A-Levels at ABB: Photography, Film-Studies and 'Film and Video' and am about toreceive my BA in Photography. I am a super creative person and am more than happy to set up and assist your child with arts and crafts and of course, any other activities for entertainment and enrichment. I have a basic DBS check.
