About Me
Hi, I am originally from South Africa and have lived in England for 18 years now. I consider myself to be a calm, kind, caring ,and responsible person who enjoys looking after children. In my spare time I enjoy going to the cinema, bowling, reading, making cards , crafts , knitting and enjoying days out to castles, zoos and parks. I also have a dog , so love animals.
November 2011 I officially became a British Citizen.
My Experience
I trained and worked in a nursery for 3 years with children 3 months- 5 years. I had experience with all the age groups throughout my time there but was mainly situated in the baby room.
Then I became a nanny and worked for a local family with 3 children. (G2,G4,B11) and worked with them for nearly 4 years. One was in full time education, one in part time education and one was at home with me. I did basic cleaning and tidying, ironing, preparing meals, school runs, homework, outings, after school activities, arts and crafts, doctors appointments, hair appointments, gave medicine when needed, and organised their birthday parties. I was also responsible for collecting prescribed medication for their son for ADHD from his clinic, had to make sure he took his tablets and that his school had some tablets for him too. The family entrusted me with the use of the family car for work purposes.
While working with the family, I did volunteering work at the youngest daughter's school and helped in her class 1 or 2 mornings a week for about 3 years. When she was in nursery, reception and year 1. I did reading and library with the children and helped the teacher with music , maths , literacy and spelling tests.
Then I was working part time ( Monday and Tuesday afternoons and full day Wednesday ) with 2 children (G3,G5). Was with the family for nearly 2 and a half years. I did the school and nursery pickup and prepare dinner. We do arts and crafts, activities, outdoor play, walks, parks and library. The family entrusted me with the use of the family car for work purposes.
Then I used to work on (Thursdays and Fridays) with twin boys of 2 and a half years old. Was with the family for nearly 2 years. I did some tidying up and making sure boys room is tidy, we go to play group, and outings, I prepare their lunch and dinner ,and we did singing, music, dancing and reading. I used my own car.
Then I was working for a family with 3 children (B13,G11,G6) on Mondays ,Wednesday's and Thursday's.Two children are in full time education and one is at home with me, going to nursery 5 mornings a week, starting school in September. I go to groups with her and parks and meet up with other children and go to the library. I do basic tidying of the house and children's rooms and sort and put away clean washing. Their mom works on a Monday and some Thursday's and is at home the rest of the week, and does most of the housework - washing, preparing and cooking meals, homework and after school clubs. I used my own car. All children are now in full time school. I still work there 1 afternoon a week.
Worked for a family with 4 children - girl and boy twins of 5 years, boy 9 years and girl 11 years. 3 afternoons a week. Finished with them at the end of March 2019.
Then was working temporarily for a single mother with 2 childten, 5 years and 7 years part time 2 afternoons a week after school care but have finished working there in October 2019.
Have been unable to find a permanent position since then and have just been doing temp work.
Was working in a preschool covering staff who can't come back due to their children not going back to school because of Covid 19. 3 - days a week but shorter hours. ( Preschool not doing full hours or days due to covid 19) - summer term 2020
*Currently working at a preschool Monday-Friday till 3pm*
