About Me
My name is Jess, I love working with children and have done so for the past thirteen years after originally volunteering as a parent helper in my daughter’s school when she was little. I loved it so much I volunteered full time and did my teaching assistant training. I currently work in a primary school as teaching assistant with children aged 4-11.
My Experience
I have over thirteen years experience working in a primary school, most of which has been in reception with 4-5 year olds, but I have also worked in the nursery and currently in years 4-6. This included as main class TA and as 1:1 with children with SEN. I am also an after school club assistant, running activities such as Games Club, Trading Cards Club, Cooking Club, Art & Crafts, Allotment Gardening, Scarecrow Making and more! I am currently doing a degree in Children's Social, Emotional and Mental Wellbeing and have years of training and qualifications related to childcare, safeguarding, medical needs and many others. I also have raised my own daughter, now a teen.
My Qualifications
I have a level 3 diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Primary Schools and I am currently studying for a foundation degree in children’s wellbeing (SEMH). I have full Paediatric First Aid training. I am DBS checked. I have done lots of training and smaller qualifications over my thirteen years in schools.
