The Best Nanny you could ever ask for!

Samira has been looking after our two boys, currently aged 4 and 2.5 since just after our little one was born, and she has been a complete godsend to our family. If I had to describe Samira in five words, I would say caring, patient, trustworthy, reliable and capable.

The best thing about Samira is that she treats my children as if they were her own - approaching them with so much care and love. After the birth of my second, I was really struggling with a super active toddler (18months) and a newborn baby. We had a nanny previous to Samira but it didn’t work out, she just didn’t fit in with our family. Samira joined us when our littlest was 3 months and our eldest was 21 months. She came into our lives and made everything so much better, a real life Mary Poppins. She is kind, loving and gentle, and has taught not only our two boys so many things, including how to keep calm and be gentle with one another, but also taught me so much about how to approach my children in difficult situations. I don’t think I would have gotten through the terrible twos without her! She is patient and always is able to explain right and wrong to our children in a gentle way. She has always been very honest and forthcoming in every way.

She is extremely proactive, and thinks of fun activities for the children to do, going out of her way to arrange to take them to soft play and to classes. She also takes care of the things that I’m more reluctant to do with them myself, everything from play dough (my worst nightmare) to cutting their nails! She also thinks up healthy recipes for our children who are vegan.

Other than Mary Poppins, I can also compare her to Marie Kondo - because she keeps our kids clothes in immaculate condition, beautifully folded and organised. In addition to this, every time I would come home from the office after her looking after the kids the house would be nice and tidy (dishwasher stacked etc). In the 2.5 years since she has been with us, she has been so reliable, barely ever been sick, and sometimes when we had emergency situations (or planned ourselves badly) come at short notice

Hiring a nanny is one of the most important decisions in your life - because whoever comes in becomes part of the family and you need to be able to trust that person. Samira is incredibly trustworthy, and has slotted right into our family and household like a hand in a glove - she understands how to read family situations well, and she knows when to step back and give us time as a family and when to take the lead, which I’ve always really appreciated. When we’ve had family or friends around she knows just what to do, being unobtrusive but always really helpful at the same time. As Samira was jointly looking after my kids with me at times but sole charge other times this was a really important skill to me.

She also drives which is a huge positive and I always feel safe with my kids being in her car.

When my husband suggested that we move out of london, my first comment to him was “but we’ll never find another Samira!”. She has formed such a deep and close bond with my two children and I can’t thank her enough for everything that she’s done for our family in the past 2.5 years. It’s not just my kids who love her, we all love her - from myself and my partner, to my mother (who is extremely hard to please!) and even my mother in law. I would 100% recommend Samira as a nanny - it will be the best decision you ever make for your family. We are going to miss her dearly when we move!
