About Me

Hi! My name is María, I’m 24 years old and I’ve recently moved to London to study an MSc in Occupational Therapy at Brunel University.

I have several years of experience working in care and childcare. Most recently, I worked as a SEND Teaching Assistant at Gretton School, supporting autistic children and young people with additional needs. My role involved providing 1:1 support, helping with communication and emotional regulation, following individual education plans, supporting daily routines and activities, and working closely with other professionals.

I also have previous experience as a support worker, working with adults with learning disabilities and autism. Before moving to London, I lived in Cambridge, where I also worked as an au pair and did lots of babysitting for different families, caring for children of different ages and with different needs. This gave me great experience adapting to each family’s routines and building trusting relationships with both children and parents. I have also volunteered with children in the past, including children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

I really enjoy working with children and I’m particularly passionate about supporting their development, independence and wellbeing. My experience has also given me a lot of patience, adaptability and confidence in managing different needs and situations.

Due to my university timetable, I’m currently looking for childcare positions during weekday evenings, ideally from around 6/7pm onwards, as I usually finish classes at 5pm. I’m also available most Thursdays and throughout the weekends.

I’d love to find a family where I can build a good relationship with the children and provide reliable, caring and fun support. ?
