Hello, my name is Ada and I am 29 years old. I am originally from Congo, Africa, and I am fluent in several languages, French and Lingala. I am a quiet and friendly person who loves spending time and learning about children.
In college, I studied art and graphic design, and I enjoy being creative, reading books, and seeing plays in theatres. I've been looking after my younger siblings since I was a child, and I don't see it as a chore; instead, I enjoy teaching them new things.
My aim is to provide a safe environment for children and support them with their early development.
At the moment I am working at the children centre in Birmingham, as an early years worker, I have been working with children since 2020. Working at the children centre helped me to work with families and children with different backgrounds and religions, I learnt not to be biased but to consider every child’s beliefs during activities planning.
I have experiences working in Baby group, toddlers group, messy play group and crèches.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has had a significant impact on children's development, causing delays in speech and language, socialisation with others, and even physical development. Using the knowledge I gained from my course, I was able to create different activities to support children with delayed development, as well as advise parents on different activities to do at home and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
