My Summary

My Experience

I love working and looking after children from any age. I have worked in Nursery settings, schools, and special needs schools. I am currently in a special needs school, I love to support children with SEN and watch them grow as a person and support their specific needs. I have had lots of experience with Autism and Downs Syndrome. My brother is autistic so I have faced many challenges with him, and I also worked 1:1 with a child with Downs Syndrome and Autism for two years. I wrote my dissertation at University about how to support children with autism in a school setting, which gave me current knowledge on understanding autism and how to support their needs. I currently work at Resources for Autism on a Saturday morning, which is a club for children with autism. Here they can be themselves and do a range of activities, exploring the community and creating relationships. I have spent two/ three years in a Nursery setting, specifically in baby/toddler room which is ages 3 months- 2. I currently help run a Brownie pack, for girls aged 7-10. Here we do lots of activities, badges, games and trips.

My Qualifications

I have a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development with the grade Distinction ***.
I have a BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies.
I have Team TEACHH training and MAPPA training.
I am trained in Safeguarding and Prevent.
I have a BTEC qualification in Children, Young people and families in residential care, Level 4.

My Availability

I can’t do every weekend but I’d be happy to do some weekends, Saturday evenings mostly. I can do in the week but would have to be the evening as I work until 4.00pm.
