About Me
I am a qualified primary school teacher in a local school. I have 4 and 1/2 years experience as a teacher, Prior to this I have worked as a Support assistant to children who were ESL (English as a Second Language), I’ve also worked in nurseries during University. I have 10 years experience in tutoring children of all ages, as well as that I have 2 children of my own.
I help children gain confidence in their learning and support them in gaining skills to overcome obstacles they may face in school/learning. I provide a safe and happy environment, giving them 1:1 tutoring allowing them space to grow and become confident learners. I believe in order to teach any new skills/ deal with problems we have to fill in their learning gaps. Once those have been filled they begin to understand and apply new concepts easily and confidently.
As a primary school teacher I know the national curriculum and can see what steps children need to meet and how they need to get there. I have taught many of the maths and literacy schemes in schools and can create specific lessons following their school curriculum.
